Who pushed that woman over into the path of a bus.

What a complete and utter wanker - who the hell does that?

Thank goodness she was OK (physically at least- she'll probably be rather nervous about walking along the pavement now Sad

Maybe he came back to get a good memory in his head because he gets off on it.

This is what I thought too. I cannot believe people are suggesting she tried to trip him. Talk about victim blaming

Hygge · 08/08/2017 18:42

MeanAger - I remember seeing the footage of that.

She broke her arms didn't she?

That footage was horrific.

VladmirsPoutine · 08/08/2017 18:42

MeanAger Can you post a link? Google hasn't turned up any results and I speak fluent German so can't find anything there either.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 08/08/2017 18:42

I am hoping that this person is recognised; someone knows who he is.

The Metropolitan Police said the bus stopped and passengers tended to the woman - who received minor injuries - following the incident on the morning of 5 May.

Officers said the jogger ran the other way across the bridge around 15 minutes later and the victim attempted to speak to him, but "he did not acknowledge her".

OverOn · 08/08/2017 18:43

It's really clear that she's walking straight. People who are saying she tried to trip him up are confusing his legs with hers. If her leg had been up at that improbable angle to trip him, it wouldn't have kicked up when he shoved her over (as it would already have been up).

It's thoroughly depressing that people are trying to find a reason for this to be her fault.

GaryBarlowsTaxReturn · 08/08/2017 18:45

The footage that justaboy posted clearly shows him turning toward her to shove her. Horrifying. Hope they catch the bloke.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 08/08/2017 18:45

Vladmirs

This is the footage in question:-

Thankfully the attacker was caught and subsequently jailed for his crime.

scaryclown · 08/08/2017 18:48

I think what happened is she was moving right to left to get out of what she thought was his line, and he had decided to cut to his right after going behind first man and their paths ended up being collision.. You can see she starts moving towards the edge of shadow, as does he immediately after. .

VladmirsPoutine · 08/08/2017 18:49

What a bastard Attila. I'm agog.

MeanAger · 08/08/2017 18:49

Thanks Attila!

HipsterHunter · 08/08/2017 18:50

@scaryclown are you blind? Do you see his arm push her?

If it was just an unavoidable collision why did he push her with his arm? Why didn't he stop?

Are out the jogger?????

MeanAger · 08/08/2017 18:53

What are the chances this guy has a history of stuff like this or at least bullying women?

Pigface1 · 08/08/2017 18:54

I get why some people are trying to say it's her fault. Sometimes victim-blaming is derived partly from fear. It's natural to want to find a reason for it and a reason why this wouldn't happen to you.

We don't know why he did it but it's clear from the video she didn't try to trip him. Since there was loads of space on the pavement, he ran happily past a man two seconds earlier without touching him, and and he shoved her with incredible force, it does seem that the most likely explanation is that it was simply a momentary fit of violent misogyny. And it could have been any of us. And the bus driver might not have been so attentive.

Sorry ladies - I know it's terrifying and hard to accept, but there genuinely are a not insignificant number of men out there who wish you harm for no other reason than the fact you're a woman.

The sooner we accept this and stop victim blaming, the better.

scaryclown · 08/08/2017 18:55

I think there is something in the relative speeds.. He is going faster and to him it would have looked like the more he's moving over the more she moves over too.
I'm not saying he didn't push her, but I think it may have looked to him like she was moving over exactly into where he was adjusting his path and this angered him.. But it's also difficult to work out the light.. They need to do one of those simulations and pov cameras in similar lights. Anyone who sails knows how collusion courses feel like slow traps if neither can work out exactly the trajectory of the other and both have momentum..

KurriKurri · 08/08/2017 18:56

Goodness that German footage is so shocking - that poor poor woman.

OP posts:
Fekko · 08/08/2017 18:56

Yes done people have said that she looked like she was trying to trip him but no one has said it was her fault that he shoved her into the path of a bus.

TulipsInAJug · 08/08/2017 19:00

I watched it twice or three times -clearly he is running along and deliberately punches her. I don't know how people can't see this.

KurriKurri · 08/08/2017 19:01

Scaryclown - whatever excuse you may come up with for the fact that he shoved her very hard, there is no excuse whatsoever for the fact that he didn't stop to help her and see if she was OK. The very fact that he carried on adds weight to the argument that he deliberately pushed her.
No sane person would have accidentally hit someone that hard and not at least stopped, slowed or looked back to see what had happened.

OP posts:
scaryclown · 08/08/2017 19:02

Sorry to be all 'physics' but momentum is an issue.. A light arm held out to deflect collusion from a heavy body moving at speed would look feel and act like a heavy shove, but may not necessarily be intended as one. . Note how hard the impact is if you walk very slowly into a lamppost you haven't noticed. Just holding up hands to block a collision with no intent to shove would result in the type of force shown here if someone is running.

NoCapes · 08/08/2017 19:04

ShockShockShock that German footage is horrifying! She absolutely fucking flew down them stairs, what an absolute cunt!
I hope his cronies were all done too, the way they just watched and walked away, one of them looked like he was going down to help but no, just picked a drink (her drink?) up off the stairs
Poor poor woman Sad

I hope they catch this jogger, that behaviour is just bizarre and also quite terrifying to think that you can just be walking down the street literally doing nothing wrong and some arsehole comes along and throws you in front of a bus!
Just - what?!
What is the world coming to?!

Fluffypinkpyjamas · 08/08/2017 19:05

He clearly ran into her, veering off of his own path and into hers. He had already jogged past the man no problems but yes, he clearly aimed for her. Shame on whoever the fuck came up with she tried to trip him!

scaryclown · 08/08/2017 19:05

It's also quite 'London' behaviour to maintain your line and not stop and look back at commuters you've slightly bumped into or made change direction. This is still a'needs more investigation' situation to me..

RidingWindhorses · 08/08/2017 19:08

He didn't maintain his line scaryclown he veered towards her. If he had maintained it he wouldn't have been near enough to shove her.

They need to do one of those simulations and pov cameras in similar lights

No, people just need to stop with this minimising crap and accept what happened.

LemonRedwood · 08/08/2017 19:09

slightly bumped into

I think you and I are looking at completely different footage from each other scaryclown

RidingWindhorses · 08/08/2017 19:09

And the 'London' thing is bollocks. Who maintains their line where there's no place for the other person to go but the bus lane?

Londoner born and bred.
