Said by colleague in a very "how could anyone with a moral bone in their body rent from such evil" tone when I mentioned that DS' landlady (non resident) used to ride to hounds (so this would have been pre-2004 law and he has been her tenant for only 5 years so it makes not a jot of difference now).
Bloody ridic or what? Decent rental property is like gold dust where he lives and she is in fact a very good landlady as I was relating (hunting past came up relating to an unrelated story). Who gives a stuff what she did 13 years ago - not that I would do it myself?

I once rented a flat from a chap who had once been a cocaine dealer. He had been to prison 'n all. As he had paid his dues, and was then an ex-coke-dealer I wasn't too bothered. Also he lived quite far away from the flat, though it may have been bought through his illegal earning, or it may have simply been his mum's until she died and he inherited.

Still, it was affordable at a time I needed somewhere to live. All good.

ride to hounds is the correct expression

Riceburner it is very stressful and terrifying for the fox unlike shooting which is far more humane but of course does not provide sport for the hunting set

If it's "riding to hounds" that doesn't strictly mean foxhunting. Drag hunting (laying scent for the hounds rather than real animals) has been around for a very long time.

Our local hunt was notorious for meeting at a pub, getting drinks brought to the car park, then setting off for a social jolly round a few fields trying not to lose the hounds. Who were that shit at their job the one time they suprised a fox by accident they jumped in the air and watched it run away in amazement. I don't think they caught anything in years.

Another ingrate who would never have unravelled "ride to hounds" passing by. Smile

You can't change the past by your actions, today.

We have successful companies that did well because of how things were in the War years and exploited the situation, as well the use of research from unethical practices and experiments.

Likewise, my city, Liverpool, like other Cities places, thrived because of the slave trade. We have people who were honoured who we now look at completely differently, streets, roads etc named after them.

She's being a nob head.

You mean like 'looking glass' for mirror or 'lavatory' instead of toilet?

I would move too, but if it doesn't bother your son then that's his business.
