DD's bottle has gone missing. Her brother has been taking them to random places around the house all week. I've searched all his usual haunts but can't find it any where. Where would an almost 2 year old put a bottle? We're in a standard 3 bedroom semi. I can't ask him as he's fast asleep.

I remember helping my mum search the house for her wedding ring once. She'd left it by her bed because she was going to garden and it disappeared. Said ring found 3 months later as a passenger in toddler brother's toy bus. He'd fastened it in with blue tac.

My 6 year old (then 5) hid my DH's security pass for his work email account under one of those Ikea steppers in the bathroom. It took HOURS of searching before we lifted it up!

Bin, oven, microwave, toy box, washing basket, or out of any window that have been left locked in the "just wide enough to throw things out" position!

NotMyPenguin · 04/08/2017 13:18

When my DD was two, she would definitely have dropped this from her pushchair and it would be lost forever. It could also be inside a bag or box of toys (especially with a dolly she'd been playing "babies" with and feeding), but this would have been less likely. Good luck!

@BarbarianMum I have been laughing out loud at that story! It's so... the epitome of parenting a toddler, somehow...

MaximaDeWit · 04/08/2017 13:21

Wash basket, backpack, kitchen drawer, bathroom bin, inside toy pram under teddy

sphinxster · 04/08/2017 15:04

Not lost, but found!

Today I found a pair of my "out out" heels in one of the toy baskets. The boy seems to have a shoe theme, which could make life easier!

I lost my keys hen DD was 4 and DS new baby. Hunted high & low then got kneeled down to look at everything from her perspective - found them in folds of the hood of her dolly pram - which is where I would put them in DS'pram if we went out for a walk so totally my own doing - she was just copying nummy

brilliant thread. Glad you found it. LOL that even the combined power of MN is defeated by the bizarre logic of a 2 yo.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/08/2017 11:33

In the toilet. Sad

LinoleumBlownapart · 05/08/2017 11:39

Glad you found it. My phone went missing once and we never found it. We even moved out of the house two years later but it didn't show up. Asking doesn't work because the answer I got was "iggle piggle took it on his boat" thanks for that helpful clue DS. He's 7 now and even he can't remember what happened to it!

YouRat · 05/08/2017 14:50

My ds never hid bottles but when he was being potty trained I would leave him without his nappy. So he had hid his very hard poo in my boot. Shock
