To think Deliveroo is one of the best inventions of the 21st century?

I used to hate takeaways. I mean, id get them when I really couldn't be arsed to cook, but I always thought I could make a nicer dinner Blush also would always feel so rubbish and stuffed with unhealthy food after.

Then deliveroo came along! They deliver from the best Indian restaurant in my area, which got voted the best curry in the country. It comes in a massive box with loads of different elements. It's unreal and I've always been too nervous to change a winning formula and try another restaurant. But I've just had Thai pork belly roasted and then stir fried with green beans and a red curry sauce, sticky rice and chicken satay. It was ridiculously good, and obviously not healthy, but fresh and not packed full of shit that has you worrying about food poisoning.

And the customer service! My takeaway last week was an hour late, I complained and got £15 credit onto my account. Meaning my dinner today was free Smile it's never usually late, and they put £5 vouchers through my door every few weeks too.

As a foodie lone parent who's toddler isn't exactly conducive to a relaxing dining experience outside the home, I feel like deliveroo's actually changed my life a little bit BlushBlushBlush

I promise I don't work for them! I'm sure uber eat is just as good, they just don't deliver in my area. I just bloody luffs them and wondered if there were any other massive fansSmile

I wish they'd make their cyclists wear helmets.

Paying eat in prices to eat at home is worth it if you save £30 on a babysitter. Plus you can drink your own booze or soft drinks and save money there too.

Employment practices are not good though; the gig economy is unstoppable but not great for society.

Are they only in London? I live in a big city and it's not available in my area...

Boosiehs · 03/08/2017 14:01

I use them every now and then. it's certainly not just chain restaurants near us.

They do insist, but it's obviously not policed by them.

There are 33 options local to me. The only chains are Firezza and GBK, and I guess MeatLiquor is a small chain.

They don't work like that - it's dependent on the restaurants. There are tons of riders in my area but they work where the "cool" restaurants are. So the riders from my (uncool) are have to ride into town to work.

Also they've been recruiting riders where we are for 3 years but still no service!

Ah, I see!

My brother works for Deliveroo and he loves it. He's transferring from one town to another when he moves universities. I think he feels fairly treated.
