For me it's window blinds. The strings always confuse me, they flip the wrong way, or get jammed. At work I managed to pull some off the wall. We moved into a new house last week and I've already got the blinds in 2 different rooms wonky and stuck.

I'm also pretty useless with tin openers and usually have to ask for assistance.

Those meat and fish trays. I find them difficult to open if the plastic is close to the food and they don't all have a peel tab so I end up cutting with scissors.

This thread is fascinating! I did already say upthread, those stove top coffee makers. I just can't. It's funny how very smart and capable people can have that one thing that reduces them to being a confused and befuddled twit. I remembered another one, which is that I struggle to open my own front door. There's a knack to it, and I can never remember what that knack is. If I need the toilet, or it's very late and scary looking outside, I start jangling the keys around in a fit of hysteria trying to do 'the knack'. we've lived there for years now, when will I be able to do it?! I literally open and close my front door about 8-10 times a day in a big kerfuffle Blush

Windows 10

WHY did I think it would be better than my dependable old Windows 7 ???

This new version was dictated in Japanese, translated into Swahili and then written in gobbledegook.

I have spent the past half an hour trying to get a very simple email done ... I could have splatted it out in 5 mins under the old system

Grrrrrrr
😡

Excel
Lipstick
DPs new car without a handbreak or key
False eyelashes or smokey eye shadow
Get a short sequence of numbers in the right order the first time

But I can

Read a map
Open a tin or wine
Start a fire/BBQ etc
Read music
Put together flatpack
Rewire a plug

So it's swings and roundabouts really.

I can use normal can openers, but can't use my Culinaire MagiCan opener without asking my teenage DS.

Stairgates. Never had them when DC were small, get completely bamboozled if we go to a friend's house with them

PeachPearPotato · 07/08/2017 00:14

Love Excell, hate printers (or they hate me).

woodhill · 07/08/2017 18:17

The tin foil box with tabs on each end. Don't understand how to do this.

PeppercornIsMime · 07/08/2017 19:05

Following a sat nav. I always drive past turnings...

Oysterbabe · 07/08/2017 19:13

Passwords. I just can never remember the fuckers and lock myself out of things all the time. There are websites I've vowed to never use again even though I want to because the password needs to be 97 characters, capitals, lower case, a symbol, a number and your favourite Shakespeare sonnet. If my phone ever logs me out of mumsnet I'll never see any of you again.
