AIBU expecting people to move?

Evening all. Quite expecting to be told I'm being U but here goes:
To celebrate 200 years sine Jane Austen died there have 24 'book benches' built and placed in various places that she lived and socialised in Hampshire (Basingstoke, Alton, Steventon etc). As its summer hols and they are only in place to end of August, myself and DS are making it our mission to see them all. There is an app you can download and 'log' each bench you find with rewards for certain ones you find and once you find a certain number.
Today we found one of the benches and wanted to take a photo; trouble is someone was already sat on it. Fair enough it is a bench. I asked the people sat on it if they would mind if I took a photo of DS on it (planning on doing album of all 24 benches). They said no problem and moved up to let DS sit down. I expected them to actually get up and off bench for a minute while I took the photo.

So AIBU to expect people to move for a moment?

Totally going to change my mind! Yanbu I've just downloaded the App DH and I are going to Winchester for the day/to see the bench there. I did h Snowdog trail in Brighton and people always moved so you could do photos, these benches are more art than seating and I would 100% get up if someone else wanted to look let alone take a photo.

They are meant to be sat on and enjoyed in real life not through a lens. Let that be a lesson to you - some things should be experienced not photographed and facebooked.

Yeah dobby* If I was sitting on the bench I'd have moved for you. Common sense!

Wtf fc?

Well, they did what you asked. If you want people to do something very specific, you need to explicitly tell them what you need. It sounds like they just did what they thought you needed - not their fault that you didn't explain.

Also just googled the benches - man, they're lovely! So much better than what I expected. I could see a child really enjoying that. It's a bit like geocaching.
