To feel massively pissed off by this? (Diet related!)

Last Sunday I started a diet. I have a stone to lose and aiming to lose 2 pounds a week. All week I have stuck to 1200 calories a day, cutting our refined carbs and sugar. I've been to the gym 4 times and been on 3 long walks.

I weighed myself tonight and have put on a pound. How can this even be possible?

AIBU to feel massively pissed off, give up on the diet and have a bar of chocolate?

Well done :) people like a thing to follow rather than just eating less and exercising.

Smellyrose · 31/07/2017 10:12

Have you weighed yourself this morning, OP?

I'm cutting back on sweet food and upping my exercise. I weigh myself most days and my weight fluctuates by a pound or two over the course of a week - I almost never get a consistent reading. As long as the average over a week is lowercase than it was before then I'm happy.

Smellyrose · 31/07/2017 10:12

*lower, not lowercase (thanks, phone)

Was that to me stealthpolarbear? Thank you if it was, apologies for misunderstanding if not.

Violetcharlotte · 31/07/2017 10:27

Smellyrose yes I was 1 pound less this morning than I was last night. Do think Aunt Flo is probably having an impact - feel generally moody and crap so that would indicate she's on her way!

Fatgirl - well done SmileYou'll need a name change soon!

Yes 77lb is amazing!

FatGirlWithChocolate · 31/07/2017 10:32

Thank you. Still a way to go, hopefully I will get there eventually. I'm still trying.

Hang in there youl notice a difference in the coming weeks .

Weight loss isn't instant , if I have a few pounds to lose after a holiday / Xmas etc I always feel like it isn't working at first but normally after a couple of weeks il just notice one day I look a lot slimmer ( i don't really get weighed a lot just more go off how I look)
