I can't believe we're on 7.

In need to go and catch up on the last couple of pages of 6.

Still no CFN OR ANYONE.

I'm thinking someone will be there tomorrow. HOPEFULLY.

Omfg I don't know whether to be pleased that whilst I've been driving 200 miles from new house to old house obvs not breaking the speed limit at all having managed it in just over 3 and a bit hours that the CFNs haven't appeared yet so I've not missed that, or to have had half of a new thread to catch up on!!

Supermagicsmile · 30/07/2017 18:53

Did you untape the door and use cable ties?

Lorddenning1 · 30/07/2017 18:55

I think that the CFNs have been kidnapped by the dodgy builders who will ransom them for a million in order to recoup the amount they know they will be fined for wrecking a listed building, ruining OP's right to enjoy her home, trespassing, smoking in a no-smoking area, failure to make good, failure to clean up dust and rubble, flogging antique bricks which do not belong to them, likewise flogging antique window, and many many other infractions of which they are guilty, hence why they now work 100 miles away from where they live.

laura1206 · 30/07/2017 19:04

Place marking

Jux · 30/07/2017 19:05

GrumpyGreta · 30/07/2017 19:08

Jux · 30/07/2017 19:10

Can we club together to get Watty a Patlock? They look brilliant, but it's unfair for her to have to fork out £64 unexpectedly...

Jux · 30/07/2017 19:10

xPost with Funko

woodhill · 30/07/2017 19:12

Like Patlock. Don't laugh but dh has done similar with a bike lock but that one is more stylish

mygrandchildrenrock · 30/07/2017 19:13

thenightsky big waves back!

I know where I shall be taking my dog for her walk tonight, Charles Wright Close!

milliemolliemou · 30/07/2017 19:14

Someone asked for a Latin tag in thread 6 - for the silken banner used for all MN protestors. I've put two together:

Nil ad Feminas MN nisi bonum et nemo nos impune lacessit. "Nothing but good to the women on MN and no one dicks us around."
Better scholars than me can correct Latin and work out Latin for Mumsnet. Rete matris is the best I can come up with.

Thinking of the wonderful board and the great songs so far, I think someone better than me should do a NDN song based on the Thenardiers in Les Miserables (they have three so a choice). Putting their point of view.

We have the intro and several statement pieces, all brilliant. We also need the taping song from Watty's friend with a chorus from MN saying go girl and others saying not sure.

Over to you PPs. Please someone make sure this is copyrighted! Would make great theatre ... does Mablethorpe have a big enough space?

Off to do garden, clean house, walk dog. Catch up tomorrow everyone

Good luck OP!

Spookle · 30/07/2017 19:15

We could 'loan' OP the cost of the Patlock and when she adds it to the expenses form CFNs have to pay the 'loan' and whatever compound interest charge squillions we as a loan company decide to charge.

DonkeyOil · 30/07/2017 19:17

Haha! Channeling my inner Rotten, Lux Grin

Colinfarrellsarse · 30/07/2017 19:18

Well did op get the tape off??

WoofWoofMooWoof · 30/07/2017 19:19

My contribution - I hate rap by Confederate Railroad. I only did two verses, sorry Grin.

I hate them, I hate them
I hate the stupid CFN
What a stupid bloody thing to do
They’ve cause a great big hullabaloo
Oh my what a big to do
I hate them, I hate them
They don’t play nice in the neighbourhood
I like Ken, I like my neighbours
And like my best friend Gorilla Barbie

I hate them, I hate them
Spanish grannie will come see to them
Along with EKL and my new friend Ken
I want to see them suffer for what they’ve done
And if I call the planners come
I hate them, I hate them
They don’t play nice in the neighbourhood
I like Ken, I like my neighbours
And like my best friend Gorilla Barbie

HotelEuphoria · 30/07/2017 19:20

Ok, so I have read every single thread and every post and since the CFNs are hiding away I think we should start placing bets now on who and what we believe has really happened.

So here is mine:

Listed apartment conversion in Exeter (reserve the right to change city but I read something about Exeter so am going with that)

CFN is a Chinese student due to start Exeter Uni in September but from a wealthy family oversees, lots of money available but no local knowledge.

CFN's parents have bought the property for her to live in for 3-4 years, and have agreed to do some home "improvements" to increase the value of the property and improve their DD's living arrangements whilst in the U.K.

After DD graduates and returns home with a very impressive UK degree from an acclaimed RG university, parents will sell "improved" property for a massive increased value.

Parents want work done with cheapest quote available and recruit unqualified, dodgy builders because they don't know any different .

Builders agree to do it because the property is miles away and they reckon they will be untraceable when the shit hits the fan as their customers don't have any local knowledge.

Everyone's a winner.

Only we know they won't be, will they?

CFN has possibly no real idea of what she has done so far but has seen planning letter so got dodgy builders back, or different builders? To fit a new door just like the OP because then it will be all be ok with the planning people won't it?

CFN hasn't yet had solicitors letter from OP so doesn't even really understand that she can't just share the garden, and possibly invite all her new friends around to share too. Lots of lovely students from all corners of the globe in the garden chatting and socialising and sharing tales and food from home.

Soon she will will have a better idea.

Anyway, that's my thoughts and I have a pound on it, what are yours?
