I watched Clueless last night on amazon prime and remembered how awesome 1994 was.

What are your top 1990s feel good movie recommendations? I need cult classics that really showcase the 90s in all its shell suited, permed, streaky blushered glory and make me feel like a kid again.

My first thought was Pump Up The Volume
California Man, anything Christian Slater/Keane/Brendan Fraser

It's not set in the early 90s but it was made then and is a joy - The Commitments
Ditto Newsies

FlandersRocks · 29/07/2017 19:55

BIG...technically late 80's but I think falls into the right genre.

Dances with Wolves
True Romance
Reality Bites
Age of Innocence

Nightshirt · 29/07/2017 20:04

90s definitely the best decade for films AND music.

My favs,

The Lost Boys
Drop Dead Fred
Shawshank Redemption
The Green Mile (only just 90s)

Ginmakesitallok · 29/07/2017 20:15

Heathers

CherryLips1980 · 29/07/2017 20:16

Pulp Fiction.

Probably Hopefully won't make you feel like a kid again though...

TheSconeOfStone · 29/07/2017 20:20

Heathers and Lost Boys both late 80's. Both great films.

IndianaMoleWoman · 29/07/2017 20:23

If we're allowing late 80s then may I offer up Stand By Me?

MumBod · 29/07/2017 20:27

The Doors
The Commitments
The Hard Way
Cape Fear
Dying Young

All films I remembered loving back then.

dinopaws · 29/07/2017 20:33

Wow - enough late 80s/90s gold here to keep me entertained until autumn!

LOVE Brendan Fraser. Have also remembered Weird Science, Bill & Ted, Young Einstein (though late 80s).

Thank you all Grin

Lifeofpies

I honestly can't remember anything that happens in it, other than watching it is like being beaten round the head by the early 90s.

Onetwothreeoops · 29/07/2017 20:44

Bio-dome just squeezes in at 1996

JoshLymanJr · 29/07/2017 20:45

If we're drifting into late 80s, I would also mention Heathers, which is totally early 90s in style and attitude, even though it came out in 1988.

Mascarponeandwine · 29/07/2017 20:47

Philadelphia

MelinaMercury · 29/07/2017 20:47

I agree with Heathers if allowing 80s films, one of my favourite films ever!
