I agree fairfax.... could you get/hire a camera to film the drive too until they come? Also check their fb page to make sure they haven't posted that parking is no longer available

mummyofmoomoos · 02/08/2017 18:17

Iv been so engaged in t'other CFN thread that i missed all this- the bloody bare faced cheek Angry hoping the council see sence and put a stop to their entitled-fucker-parking. Good luck!!

SheSaidHeSaid · 02/08/2017 18:20

I'm so glad the council are looking in to it.

Thing is, if CFN hadn't taken the piss so much, even after your warnings, it wouldn't have gone that far. They brought this entirely on themselves.

QueenDaisy · 02/08/2017 18:21

Fantastic news to read, hopefully the council will tell them they need to move their Business out of the residential area. I don't like to think of someone losing their livelihood, but they've brought this on theirselves & hopefully they'll find somewhere more suitable to run a Business from.

Theycalledmethewildrose · 02/08/2017 18:26

Good news OP. They might have the nerve to approach you to make an agreement. You know what they are like! Keep a record, give as much evidence to the council as possible.

mrsheathy85 · 02/08/2017 18:39

Yay parking not on your drive alpha Wink here till Friday Grin

whiteroseredrose · 02/08/2017 18:40

Pleased to hear it. The whole thing is staggering!

LakieLady · 02/08/2017 18:55

Well done, OP. I hope the council tell them they've got to find alternative premises and stop running a business from residential premises.

Serves them bloody well right for being so arsey.

ColourfulOrangex · 02/08/2017 19:00

Ohh fingers crossed something gets sorted Friday OP

Leeds2 · 02/08/2017 19:01

I would go back through this whole thread and make a point of dates/times/incidents when the neighbour has cause you inconvenience. Write down actual conversations as you remember them, including any abuse. Also include anything which happened before you started the thread, if anything. Take a copy down to whoever is dealing with it at the Council tomorrow, so that they have it before they visit on Friday.
If you or your DH could be home at the time of the visit on Friday, it might be helpful as they may ask local residents for their opinion.

Whatbusinessname · 02/08/2017 19:02

Trusting the planning gods make the right decision for you on Friday AlphaBites

WhatIsThisWatt · 02/08/2017 19:09

Hi alphabites thought I'd pop over from my own CFN drama to say GOOD LUCK for Friday! Glad you've been able to stand your ground. It's not always easy!

happypoobum · 02/08/2017 19:27

Agree this level of cheekyfuckerness warrants a call to HMRC Grin

Good luck for Friday.

Allergictoironing · 02/08/2017 19:41

Sadly, the council have given the CFN notice of when they are coming to inspect them. Easy enough for CFN to cancel bookings (or not book anyone new in at least) and to warn the customers they do have booked in to park elsewhere.

Jaspzeb · 02/08/2017 20:12

Fingers and toes crossed for Friday

KitKat1985 · 02/08/2017 20:21

Oooh excellent update! I hope Friday goes well.

toldmywrath · 02/08/2017 20:30

I also don't like to think of someone losing their livelihood. But he has been a truly CFN.
I'm on your side OP, but I hope the CFN can apologise to his neighbours and come up with a better parking arrangement that doesn't impinge upon any of you.

gingergenius · 02/08/2017 20:41

He won't lose his livelihood. If all goes well, he will be required to relocate and earn his livelihood from Tom a commercial location instead of a residential one!

QueenDaisy · 02/08/2017 21:36

Don't get me wrong, I'm completely with the OP, the CFN has been an absolute pig & deserves anything that is coming his way, but it would be a shame for him if he lost his livelihood as he may not be able to afford Business premises, which could be why he is running his Business from home & he really should have been considerate to his neighbours, he only has himself to blame.

ChasedByBees · 02/08/2017 21:36

At the very least I hope the planners tell them that getting their customers to park on private residential land is unacceptable and could lead to consequences

No I don't agree that you should take the chain down, nor allow the customers to park there - all that will do is show that you are ALLOWING the customers to park there, and CFN will say that you have an arrangement.

Leave the chain in place and put the notice on it that says "No Parking - private drive" - be very clear that you have entirely Had Enough of people using your driveway WITHOUT your permission.

mistlethrush · 02/08/2017 22:50

QueenD - perhaps he should move house so that his new house is 'suitable' for running a business from - eg it has a DRIVE so that his customers (let alone himself and any other employees) can park off the road where they are not inconveniencing nearby residents or tresspassing

youarenotkiddingme · 02/08/2017 23:00

Epic update Grin

dollydee · 02/08/2017 23:08

It's not right that homeowners have to go to additional expense to prevent neighbours from abusing their property / good nature.
