I like the sound of your OH now.

If chains are cut, perhaps you could consider installing an alternative chain across the CFN's door.
Just a temporary one.
Or police looking tape. Grin www.amazon.co.uk/Length-Police-Cross-Novelty-Barrier/dp/B00CLPLI9E?tag=mumsnetforum-21

Lweji · 31/07/2017 15:34

True ginger but they'll likely deny it and there will be no evidence it was them.

If the OP keeps reporting them, and keeps evidence of their nuisance, then they'd be the first suspects.

whatsleep · 31/07/2017 15:40

It's not it overly pricy these days to install a small cctv camera. We recently added one to the front if our house. We have an app which shows us anytime the camera is activated by movement on our property! They can be quite well hidden if you don't want people to know they are there too

AlphaBites · 31/07/2017 15:44

@whatsleep One is being added later this week.

I think that is a good plan, Alpha, and will hopefully identify anyone trying to cut the chain.

TheSnorkMaidenReturns · 31/07/2017 16:03

Have you checked council for planning conditions yet?

AsleepAtMyDesk · 31/07/2017 16:08

whatsleep - what camera did you buy? Think I might get one.

whatsleep · 31/07/2017 16:19

ASLEEP I'll have to let you know later when duh gets home, Iv absolutely no idea!

Glad to hear your having one fitted ALPHA , try and have it fitted discreetly or high up though, it would be easy for someone to approach one from the side and remove it otherwise. We have a black cover over ours that's hidden next to a black wooden rood strut above the garage door. It's virtually invisible unless you know it's there.

mrscropley · 31/07/2017 16:26

I have a rather nasty rotty if you give me their address I can book her in - ob won't block your drive or park on it while dropping off. . She will put her off working with dogs and close her business for sure!!

Ciaovenora · 31/07/2017 16:43

You could start making appointments that no-one has any intent on showing up too!

LexieLulu · 31/07/2017 16:46

The bloody cheek! I wonder whether your neighbour has told them to use your drive or if they have took it upon themselves?

Send him an invoice for service charge/drive maintenance x

Scaredycat3000 · 31/07/2017 19:07

I really don't understand why you don't post on the businesses social media pages. Your problem is with how the business is run. If it was an actual business premises not a residential building would you feel different? The quickest and easiest way to stop their customers parking on your drive is to inform them all over social media that they never have and never will be giving permission for their customers or staff to park on your drive. What that does to their customer base is their problem. You have been nothing but reasonable.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 31/07/2017 19:13

The business must be telling customers to "park on drive opposite". There's no way three people would just decide to park on a stranger's drive unless they thought it was ok

Scaredycat3000 · 31/07/2017 19:20

Parting shot from CFN was "OK, no more parking but clients to still drop off." AlphaBites Thu 27-Jul-17 13:51:05

Break you are correct, the CFN even told Alpha. That is why I wouldn't hesitate in stating the facts on the relevant social media pages.

whatsleep · 31/07/2017 19:23

If you post on someone else's face book page/business page, the owner of the page can simply delete it! I think.......

Trb17 · 31/07/2017 19:33

But if you post on your own page publicly and tag the business they can't delete it Wink

whatsleep · 31/07/2017 19:40

Interesting......... must remember that 😬

FairfaxAikman · 31/07/2017 19:56

And make it public so that people can share it! Grin

AlphaBites · 31/07/2017 20:15

I'm sat in my living room and CFN has walked past with their mutts and they have stopped and stared at the Fuck Off chain 🖕

Then CFN said to his wife
CFN : "What the fuck is that ? This is the reason why people have been late today, they can't park!"
CFN : "Can you move it ?"
Chain rattles
At this point I shout out the window

"What part of Fuck Off, this drive isn't yours do you not get ?" They both shat their pants and looked up in shock at the window to see me looking pissed off. They then scuttled off.

My car is staying home tomorrow and I'm getting a lift to work for the remainder of the week.

Epic!

gingergenius · 31/07/2017 20:20

Fucking hell @AlphaBites that's beyond cheeky. Pity you didn't video them doing that!!!! Please get cctv. I fear they will brazenly attack your property for their own ends without any concern for the law x

ItsNachoCheese · 31/07/2017 20:20

And a big fucking hahahaha to cfn you absolute cuntpuffin 😂

fairgame84 · 31/07/2017 20:21

Good for you for standing up to them. I can't believe his brass neck. What part of 'private drive' doesn't he understand? Angry

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 31/07/2017 20:22

oh hahaaha! That's truly epic, Alpha - and now they get the message loud and clear! ha fucking ha - up yours, CFNs!! Grin

mistlethrush · 31/07/2017 20:26

Fantastic that you caught them saying that!
