AIBU or the woman??

I was recently changing to swim in my local leisure. Woman aged about 70 comes up and says 'hi I'm Dave and Laura green's mum (not real names) from St martins Sunday school (not real name). She basically went to my church and her kids went to my school. She is over 70 now. I said hello and acknowledged her but then moved away and into the pool as I don't like this woman - I've got enough evidence to believe she's a nosey gossip 2 traits I despise.
Anyway few weeks later I was at same pool change rooms and talking quite freely and in a friendly way to some ladies aged around 70 so 1 Generation above me. Next thing shower curtain opens and Nosey Gossip struts out saying 'Hello Acapella' in a very obviously sarky wag while strutting past me. AIBU or NoseyGossip??

it seems like a pifflingly tiny incident to me - who cares?

Wolfiefan · 26/07/2017 18:14

Um what now?
You walked off so maybe she thought you were rude? you have certainly been rude about her here.
She recognised you. Greeted you. You walked off. Sounds like you blanked her.

DonaldStott · 26/07/2017 18:14

What?

Phosphorus · 26/07/2017 18:14

What?

Someone introduced themselves, and said 'hello'?

Confused
cardibach · 26/07/2017 18:15

I've no idea what you think happened. Why was she sarky? How could you tell from2 words?

OP posts:
acapellagirl · 26/07/2017 18:16

EssieTregowan · 26/07/2017 18:16

You think she's a nosey gossip because she said hello?

Fuck me, you'd hate living in my village.

acapellagirl · 26/07/2017 18:17

Wolfie I did say hello and was polite and acknowledge her but then moved away as if to establish a boundary of no 'meaningful' convo iyswim

lmer · 26/07/2017 18:18

This post makes hardly any sense tbh

Hercules12 · 26/07/2017 18:18

You think she's a nosey gossip, I expect she thinks you're very rude.

acapellagirl · 26/07/2017 18:18

NO!! Essie NOT cos she said hello from my previous extensive knowledge of her!!

OP posts:
Bluntness100 · 26/07/2017 18:19

She said hello and walked past? What's unreasonable about it?

SweetheartTreacleTart · 26/07/2017 18:19

To answer the question YABU

putdownyourphone · 26/07/2017 18:19

Why did it matter that the other women were 1 generation older?

Lauraagh · 26/07/2017 18:20

This makes no sense Confused

acapellagirl · 26/07/2017 18:20

Put down - for context - age wise same as nosey gossip

OP posts:
tigerdriverII · 26/07/2017 18:20

I think you may be over thinking this

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 26/07/2017 18:21

Er YABU for taking this non-event and making it into a drama. Saying hello isn't a personal attack Hmm even if she was a bit sarky, who cares?

RestingBitchFaced · 26/07/2017 18:26

I have no idea what's going on. She said hello in a sarky way? And? Confused

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 26/07/2017 18:27

Im sorry but i dont follow.
She peeked out the curtain and said hello.
And because of that. She's a gossip.
You sound very clique and exclusive tbh. That's what I'm picking up from your post
I bet you're one of those people who thinks they're doing everyone a favor by letting them breath the same air as you.

Theresnonamesleft · 26/07/2017 18:34

So woman introduces herself to you based on her going to your church and her children attending the same school as you?
But aparantly she's a nosy gossip who would have known you anyway? How do you know this about her considering she didn't know you to say hi acapella?

I really cannot see what she did that was wrong.
