Backstory: I'm not what you would call a horror fan - Hammer films are about as far as I'll go. Anyway, we all decided to sit down and watch Jaws and I'd forgotten just how terrified it made me all those years ago!

Do you like scary films? What are your favourites?

Hmcaswas I love that music. That trailer was one of the best trailers ever made. I mean yeah the film was great too Grin but I remember watching the trailer with that music and thinking "okay I have got to see this".

Lastgirl so great to find another TCM fan! I can't believe they banned it - as you say, it's not graphic, even by the standards of the time. It is truly scary though because of its mastery of tension and pacing and implication.

I saw Tobe Hooper interviewed once and he is the mildest mannered person you could imagine!

oops bold case fail!

Yes. Anne - I love TCM and have seen it fifty times or more. I like how feminist it is, especially for a seventies horror!! The final girl, the fact that Pam was the one who told them not to stop for the hitchhiker and told Kirk to turn back from the house a number of times...if only she had been listened to. Sally was tough and kept going even when all hope seemed lost.

I went to see this at a drive in some years ago at Halloween and despite having watched it many, many times before, I was absolutely terrified sitting outside in the dark in my car...when Sally was being chased through the trees I was half expecting to see Leatherface outside my car!!😂

And I totally agree about Tobe Hooper...a very unassuming guy!
