I'm sick of wearing leggings to the park and playgroups so i thought I'd look for some soft casual trousers. I find i have to keep yanking up my jeans so don't wear them.

I got a pair of harem pants and tried them on and they look a bit lile pyjamas...i feel a bit embarrassed going out in them. Btw I'm late 30s and slim so maybe I'm too old for them (although i look much younger)
Am i being silly?

A mum at school regularly wears a really baggy trousers with a low crotch. Think harem pants but massive.

The effect is of a toddler wearing a dirty nappy...or wearing a nappy while paddling in the sea.

I live in these, comfy and cool.

Should be banned for adults, they are so ugly and should only be worn in size 0-24 MONTHS, to allow for nappy space

BabychamSocialist · 26/07/2017 14:41

Oh god, I'd never have the confidence to wear them. I'd feel so self conscious in them, so kudos on you ladies who can wear them with pride! I do actually like the style (not the great big parachute style ones) and a they look nice in certain patterns.

As for me, I usually wear pedal pushers or capri pants as my summer outfit.

they do look like PJs. I had a teacher at school who always wore them (before they became fashionable), she had so many different pairs that she wore with Tshirts & sandals in complimentary colours, they were a trademark look for her.

I like them, wish I was brace enough to carry them off.

I had a pair a few years ago thought I looked OK in them I was very slim young and fashionable. Got told I looked like a weight lifter Sad obviously just don't look right on most people.

I love mine! They aren't p'j like, but I suppose I do choose them in certain fabrics so they're not IYSWIM. I like them because I have a slim middle, larger hips and skinny ankles. In the right fabric they skim all the lumpy bits and show off the skinny bits. Maybe I'm just delusional though??!! I did have a pair that were more yoga trousers than harem, with the very low crotch- totally agree with the full nappy comments! They aren't really designed for everyday wear, just for actual yoga-ing

Every time i wear mine my DP says 'haha you got your jammies on'

I bloody love mine (also pregnant!) but I would only wear them a) on sunny days and b) with immaculate hair and make-up - I think that stops them looking like pyjamas! Also it depends on the print.
