I'm sick of wearing leggings to the park and playgroups so i thought I'd look for some soft casual trousers. I find i have to keep yanking up my jeans so don't wear them.

I got a pair of harem pants and tried them on and they look a bit lile pyjamas...i feel a bit embarrassed going out in them. Btw I'm late 30s and slim so maybe I'm too old for them (although i look much younger)
Am i being silly?

I wear mine after the gym when I've had a really sweaty workout and a swim - because they are the most pyjama-y thing you can get away with in public.

RubaDubMum89 · 25/07/2017 18:16

amber link please? Haha, I might have to buy these!

Pickleypickles · 25/07/2017 18:18

My mum thinks they look like pyjamas....so just wears her pyjama bottoms (that do look very harem trousery) out Blush

aaaaargghhhhelpme · 25/07/2017 18:19

Yanbu - they are pyjama like.....but oh so comfy!

As long as you don't buy a slouchy top to go with it you'll be ok!

sonjadog · 25/07/2017 18:37

Please could you link to them?

Stoptherideiwannagetoff · 25/07/2017 22:00

Hell No they're god damn fabulous things!! I wear them everywhere... even to bed when I'm too damn tired to get changed but that's another story! Ever since a rather embarrassing incident of a very hot day in a non air conditioned waiting room they are my best friends. You may get the odd comment, but float past in peace OP, secure in the knowledge the commenter is almost certainly suffering sweaty undercarriage syndrome ...

Purplemac · 25/07/2017 22:03

They really do. Love them anyway! I wear them all the time to work, along with a pair of loafers, and I always say that I'm wearing my pyjamas and slippers. So comfortable though and really pretty patterns so I don't care!

Cuckingfunt1981 · 25/07/2017 22:05

They do nothing for anyone's figure. Even supermodels look ridiculous in them . Iv never got the harem style craze

user1499786242 · 25/07/2017 22:08

I wear them to babygroup... I genuinely don't care if they look like pyjamas
I only ever receive compliments though so pretty sure they don't...
They are so compfy and perfect for running around and playing with LO

next do some smart ones!!! Not to pyjama-y

honeylulu · 25/07/2017 22:11

I think they make people look like overgrown toddlers with saggy nappies.

cardibach · 25/07/2017 22:15

I don't have any, but do like them. Cucking I couldn't care less about what my (or anyone else's) figure looks like.

HeadDreamer · 25/07/2017 22:18

I bought them as lounge wear. I think they look like pyjamas too. But oh so comfy.

AGrinWithoutACat · 26/07/2017 12:47

You could try Thai Fisherman trousers instead - I bought 2 pairs when pregnant with last DC and have kept them for summer wear - hopefully the picture will attach

I'm in the minority I think they look awful.

Oddish · 26/07/2017 12:54

Yes they look like pyjamas but are comfy AF so I don't care Smile

Boredboredboredboredbored · 26/07/2017 13:00

I have these from Hush, have worn them for years both with sandals and trainers. I don't think they look like pjs at all. Expensive but worth the investment.

Have you though about something like these? My dd wears them with a cropped top, looks great and they are very soft ebay

sonjadog · 26/07/2017 13:05

I am now looking for harem pants to buy and I can't find any I like!

feathermucker · 26/07/2017 13:06

I love them. So comfy and light. I don't even care if people think they look like pyjamas 😀

Twinkie1 · 26/07/2017 13:08

Plain Hush ones don't look like pyjamas. I think the cheaper ones do tend to as the quality of the material makes them look more like night wear.

AVY1 · 26/07/2017 13:11

They aren't harem but H&M have a selection of what they call 'jersey trousers' in all kinds of colours / patterns. They feel like pjs (which I love) but don't look so much like them.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 26/07/2017 13:13

I wear them for work most days but so do a lot of the staff (primary school) including our head.

If they look like PJs, I don't care. I need to be cool and comfortable.

guiltybystander · 26/07/2017 13:17

They are very versatile, you can go out in them, use them as pyjamas, yoga pants and loungewear. Same goes for leggings.

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 26/07/2017 13:18

I have a pair of black ones I got from La Redoute a couple of years ago, and I've shocked myself by wearing them to death! They're perfect for travelling and on flights as they're so comfy, and I smarten them up a bit with a tan leather belt that ties instead of buckles. They were a godsend after my C section too.

I don't think they look like pyjamas, not if you wear a nice fitted top and flats or sandals with them.

ChocolateRicecake · 26/07/2017 13:20

I took a while to be won over but they are comfy and I love mine Grin
