Monarch has no record of flight booking

Going on holiday just after midnight tonight. I found our flights through last minute.com and then booked directly with the airline (Monarch). I have paid for the flights about two months ago, and went to check in online this morning using the confirmation code and my email address and all I get is a message saying nothing can be found. I logged into my account on last minute.com and the flights are listed there as confirmed, and I have checked and double checked the details but to no avail. I tried to call Monarch and can't get through and I've emailed them but not sure how quickly they will get round to replying. Neither of us are on Twitter. Can I still turn up at the airport? I have the email confirmation but only from last minute nothing from the airline!

Did you call Monarch or book direct in their website? Or did you book with last minute? That's the first thing to figure out...

Shoxfordian · 21/07/2017 12:57

If you booked direct with Monarch then you should have had confirmation emails

Last minute won't help as presumably that's just the hotel?

I think you need to call monarch until you get through

toosexyforyahshirt · 21/07/2017 12:58

I found a deal on last minute then booked directly with monarch but only have confirmation on my last minute account- nothing from monarch

This makes no sense. If you booked direct with Monarch you can't have a confirmation from lastminute, you didn't book with them. If you don't have a confirmation from Monarch, you don't have a booking.

Did you pay (anyone) for the flights? Do you have the record of that?

Hintreppit · 21/07/2017 12:59

I'm trying to remember as it was months ago- when you book through last minute they present the deal and then the website re directs you to the airline to book with them. I got a long ID number from last minute and a code to use for monarch online check in- that code isn't working. The return flight is easyjet and all the codes for them are working. We booked our hotel separately.

The money has gone out of my account - so I have a long confirmation code from last minute and individual codes for each flight. The return easyjet one works but the outbound monarch one does not.

She booked directly with Monarch, so Last Minute have nothing to do with it.

I would sign up to twitter (which would take a minute) and tweet them, and would keep trying Monarch.

toosexyforyahshirt · 21/07/2017 13:02

But you didn't book through last minute, you said! So how did you get codes from them?

EnglishGirlApproximately · 21/07/2017 13:03

You've booked with lastminute then, not Monarch direct. It could well be that it's your email address that's the issue, I know when you book Ryanair through a third party you have to use the email address of the booking agent.

GlitterNails · 21/07/2017 13:03

I would print off everything including the money showing too to take to the airport. Could you go to the airport earlier to try and make sure it's sorted?

GlitterNails · 21/07/2017 13:04

Sounds like you did book through Lastminute then if it redirected from their site to Monarch, so try Tweeting them too.

Roomster101 · 21/07/2017 13:04

I found a deal on last minute then booked directly with monarch but only have confirmation on my last minute account- nothing from monarch.

The fact you didn't receive anything directly from Monarch shows you didn't book directly with them. You obviously booked with last minute - why else would they have sent confirmation.

cjt110 · 21/07/2017 13:05

Ive booked through an agent (Expedia) and it gives you a code/reference for them/their website and also a code/reference for the carrier (Emirates). Can you check you don't have 2 different references?

EnglishGirlApproximately · 21/07/2017 13:05

If the money has gone to lastminute Monarch at the airport won't care if the code doesn't work. The first thing you need to establish is if the booking actually worked and as it's through last minute they'll have to sort it for you.

cjt110 · 21/07/2017 13:06

You should still be able to log on and manage your flight on the Monarch site, despite who you booked with. We did with Emirates as above.

Hintreppit · 21/07/2017 13:06

The confusing thing is I do have direct emails from easy jet- on my last minute account it shows both flights as confirmed.

OP posts:
cjt110 · 21/07/2017 13:07

Are you calling lastminute now?

Roomster101 · 21/07/2017 13:07

It is confusing that they directed you to the Monarch website for the booking but that still doesn't mean that you booked directly with them. Last minute acted as the third party and presumably got commission etc just as if you had used a travel agent.

Roomster101 · 21/07/2017 13:09

You should still be able to log on and manage your flight on the Monarch site, despite who you booked with.

You can't with Monarch though for some reason. They are quite specific about that on their website. You have to check in at the airport.

KickAssAngel · 21/07/2017 13:09

If you paid for a flight, you should be able to turn up and check in at the airport. BUT if the flight has been overbooked (and they all, always are) then the last people to check in will be the ones who don't get on the flight. So, I'd suggest getting there asap.

I regularly travel UK/US and we have a green card which has to be seen by a real life person, so can never check in online. So, it's up at stupid o'clock to get to the airport hours before the flight!

Hintreppit · 21/07/2017 13:09

I have tweeted last minute and monarch

Figuier · 21/07/2017 13:10

This is normal for Monarch and third parties. I've booked through lastminute.com last month and couldn't check in or even look at the booking. Give them a ring if you're worried. I was advised to turn up early in case most of the seats were already taken but had no issue with checking in at the airport.

Bluntness100 · 21/07/2017 13:12

You have booked with last minute, as such it's them you need to speak to urgently.

Gemini69 · 21/07/2017 13:13

Oh gawd.. have you sorted this yet ? sounds kinda dodgy... Confused

Bombardier25966 · 21/07/2017 13:18

I've just done a dummy booking on Last Minute, it doesn't redirect you to the Monarch site.

Looks like they're helpful on Twitter, but if you get nowhere you need to ring and stay on the line for as long as it takes. Frustrating but better than going to the back of the queue when you try again.

astoundedgoat · 21/07/2017 13:19

Why not actually ring them?
