Posting for traffic..

I'm just wondering if you think my DD nearly 1yo qis getting enough food in a day. Today she has had...

4oz milk

A slice of toast (minus the crusts)
10 blueberries
3 small slices of watermelon
Baby bell

A biscuit

A crumpet with cheese spread
2 large strawberries
Some crisps

A handful of tuna pasta sweet corn
1/2 veg pouch
More blueberries
Bite of bannana
4 dairly lee dunker crackers

Then she'll probably have 3oz milk before bed.

She's 1. How much more do you expect her to have?

How much of that food is smushed into the floor? Grin

Sirzy · 20/07/2017 17:03

Sounds like more than enough!

This is all only my opinion, but I would say:

Her milk intake is a little low
She doesn't need crisps at 1 year old, nor does she need Dairylea dunker crackers
Why a veg pouch not some actual veg?
Protein is a bit lacking too and the menu is pretty carb heavy

I would cut out the crisps and crackers, more veg and protein.

BrazillaBells · 20/07/2017 17:05

She has 3 sippy cups of water/juice a day

MiddleClassProblem · 20/07/2017 17:06

Yes because my 2.5 is barely eating at the mo

2014newme · 20/07/2017 17:06

Be careful with fruit as it's very bad fir teeth (fruit acid)

Justhadmyhaircut · 20/07/2017 17:06

Does she sleep all night?

early30smum · 20/07/2017 17:07

She also does not need juice at 1 year old

Sirzy · 20/07/2017 17:12

Nobody needs Juice

(I have nothing against juice)

2014newme · 20/07/2017 17:13

No juice, not even diluted. Water only.

early30smum · 20/07/2017 17:16

I agree, no one needs juice! I personally would never give it, even watered down, at 1 year old.

LouHotel · 20/07/2017 17:17

I think its fine in quantity but would try to add some finger food veg. I say this as my 13 month old currently looks at a slice of broccoli with a contempt and distrust

LouHotel · 20/07/2017 17:17

I'm assuming by juice you mean squash before you get lynched.

Foggymist · 20/07/2017 17:21

Everything early30smum said.

Curious as to why no crusts on the bread?!

PinkHeart5911 · 20/07/2017 17:33

Why dairyles dunkers? They are just rubbish
Why veg pouch? Is there no actual veg the child will eat chopped up? Or some steamed broccoli etc with dinner?
No need for crisps for a little one really either, much better choices available
A 1 year old doesn't need juice at all, water/milk is all they need

My youngest is 11 months
Breakfast, Porridge with blue berries
Mid morning An orange
Lunch chunk of mild cheddar, cucumber & pepper sticks, few bits of pitta bread & spoon of hummus
Afternoon snack more cucumber sticks
Dinner will be salmon, sweet potato mash, broccoli
Water or milk to drink

DonaldStott · 20/07/2017 17:50

Crisps, dairylea crackers, biscuit, juice.

I would cancel these out and offer healthier options. Cucumber sticks, cherry tomatoes maybe.

YABVVVVU asking for food advice on Mumsnet.

Do your own research and ignore the responses here... except this one, of course. Grin

BrazillaBells · 20/07/2017 17:56

I'm really not fussed what others think of my choice of food just the quantity. I feel reassured now, thanks Grin

OP posts:
NerrSnerr · 20/07/2017 17:58

That's about the same amount as my nearly 3 year old has had today. She is fussy though.

My almost one year old eats nowhere near that quantity I wish he ate half of that

Lukeandlorelai4Ever · 20/07/2017 18:11

Bet you regret asking now!

ProudBadMum · 20/07/2017 18:13

Brazilla food threads go either way. You'll either be told their 2 year old eats less or their 6 month old eats double.

Can I ask, how many sausages would you give your 1 year old? Cause a real debate Grin

Mrsglitterfairy · 20/07/2017 18:16

I wouldn't ask that on here, you'll get lynched for the 'crap' that she doesn't need. But then none of us need crisps or juice but we like them as a treat. I think it sounds fine, as long as she is sleeping well and there are no concerns around her being underweight then I wouldn't worry at all.
