So today we're off to MILs house for a family gathering. I have a horrendous hangover we went out for a quick dinner yesterday and didn't roll in til one. I need to not look and feel like I've been at an all night party. Help!

1pt of milk and a banana. Sounds weird but I got through my reckless teenage years on this.

Fizzy water, paracetamol, then a croissant and a coffee. More fizzy water. Find something to do. I find that being busy distracts me from the yuck feeling... Then lots of makeup.

Big carby lunch
An alcoholic drink

Bottle of Tropicana and a roll of Softmints

A few hours later eat the entire contents of the house

Will you be drinking at MILs? If so have a few straight away and that'll get you through to home time.

Fizzy water as it's always easier on the stomach and a bag of salt and vinegar mccoys! Worked for morning sickness as well! Hate hangovers so much!

Crisps! Sounds like you have that one covered already OP. I find ibuprofen better than paracetamol but you have to be sure to have a fullish stomach before taking them. Travel sickness tablets are also good for nausea... The sex thing does work, though it's probably the last thing you feel like, a good orgasm really helps! Then fresh air, preferably a cool and breezy walk if the weather is amenable.

Dioralyte, soluble painkillers, milk thistle, berocca.

Two paracetamol washed down with a berocca.
A massive bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes.
A big coffee.
A fishfinger butty.
Several episodes of Friends.
A nap.
A beer.

A Big Mac meal with full fat Coke, and Anadin. No other painkillers come close to Anadin (except co-codamol and other pharmacy only ones)

Loads of carbs, orange juice.

Sex does work for me, but it only stalls the hangover. When the sex has finished, the hangover is back with a vengeance!

So I tested the theory gotta admit I'm feeling pretty good worried about it coming back now though!
I think people will be drinking but I don't think i could stomach it.
Thanks for all the suggestions DH is out with strict instructions to come back with amount of fried carbs.
Fingers crossed this will see me through the afternoon!

If it's really bad I have some Tramedol prescription only painkillers that give quite a floaty morphine like high and kill a headache dead. Otherwise coffe, salt and vinegar crisps that sort of thing

Alka seltzer is your friend

The problem with Pickled Onion Monster Munch is it can repeat on you for several hours. I prefer powerful pharmaceuticals. Also there are anti-nausia drugs you can take

Salt and vinegar crisps, cheese on toast and full fat coke with loads of ice.

And the sex does work - in our house it's very classily referred to as a bangover.........
