The first album I bought was supposed to be the Star Wars sound track. Due to not understanding how these things work I got Star Wars, only it was by the Sonic Allstars. Instead of the LSO or similar playing the orchestral version it was a man in a mullet playing the synthesizer and was closer to The Firm's 'Star Trekking' than the expected mighty opus.

It was a cassette of a Kylie album - the name escapes me now but the picture was of her profile, with a black disc hat thing on her head and all her curly hair tumbling out on top. Around late 80s maybe?

The first I had bought for me was bizarrely the Rumour album by Fleetwood Mac. I'm sure my Mum bought it for herself really

First album (on cassette) was Blondie Parallel Lines, which makes me sound cooler than I was .

I think it was Take That - A Million Love Songs . I was about 8, in my defence. I vividly remember buying the Alanis Morissette album and an Oasis single , but I'm pretty sure that was when I was a bit older.

Mine was Whigfield - Saturday Night. DH, who is ten years my senior, bought Axel F and Into the Groove as his first singles from Boots. By the time I was buying, Boots no longer sold singles.

Last resort- Papa Roach was the first single I bought and Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park was the first album.
