12yo wet the bed

I've posted here too, as not sure how busy the teens board is...

He's never been a big bed wetter and last time was probably at least 18 months ago.
Has anyone else's child wet the bed at this age?

He assures me he's not worried about anything and didn't seem upset about the actual bed wetting. I've not made a thing if it, just asked if everything is okay as there's been no Xbox live last night or this morning. He says that's just because no one has been online. He was out all day with friends yesterday.

His entire bed has escaped unscathed . Purely just the boxers which are wet.

Should I be concerned about this??

"He was totally fine with that, and it was him who pointed out it hadn't got on his bed. "

OP I am just wondering if he pointed out it hadn't got onto his bed as a way of suggesting, politely, to you that it was actually a wet dream? He probably, and rather awesomely, attempted to give his boxers a quick wash before you touched them thinking it was the the appropriate, responsible, or, hygienic thing for him to do. I feel he may be aware he had a wet dream and was mature enough to deal with it.

As a parent, hopefully your concerns are a little alleviated now that people have pointed out, and perhaps even he has subtly pointed out it was a wet dream. Keep an eye on things and if there's any sudden middle of the night bed flooding, then yes, perhaps it's time to seek medical advice, but for now, I'd just brush it off as normal teenage development.

But Mrs Imagine that child gets home, opens her bag and discovers the little secret she thought she had kept to herself had been found out. She doesn't know of her friends know or anything!
Guess which child won't be visiting again! The embarrassment Blush

When ds2 was growing out of wetting the bed he had a phase of starting to wee then waking up and stopping - so wet pj bottoms but not a wet bed. Maybe something like this?

Wet dream. Sorry op but it's a bit weird to sniff your almost teenagers underwear.

Oh crikey poor kid. Can't even sneak his wet dream pants in the laundry basket without his mum having a sniff and a quiz. He's going to be creating a lot of grim boxers in his time that just how it goes. Just keep the rule that he puts them
In laundry basket and say no more about it.

Nike no. As I said, I know the child very well indeed. She's already planned her next visit! She's quite thick skinned. No need to blush for her.

I found a pair of wet boxers on my DS'S floor the other day, gave them the sniff test, it came back positive for urine. No wet bed though. I think he'd started to wee, woken up, gone to the loo and then taken off the wet pants. My other DS has also done this a few times. I mention it to them only to point out that leaving urine soaked pants on the floor leads to a smelly carpet.

Basically OP, don't worry about it.

If it was happening regularly I understand asking him about it, but quizzing a 12 year old boy about wet underwear is embarrassing for him.
