To ignore the mum I nuzzled?

Kids assembly. There with my DP. Looking for my daughter, not concentrating, "nuzzled" a mum who, from the back, out the corner of my eye, l must have thought was DP. "Ahh, look at them all" I drawled in her ear, hand on her waist Shock.

Anyway, she turned slightly, looking horrified, backed away. I said nothing. Now she looks terrified in the playground. Should I just say to her "look, I'm sorry, you just looked like my (male, very hairy) DP from the back"??

Last Saturday afternoon I knocked on someone's door with a bottle of prosecco in each hand and demanded to know where the party was.

Right house number. Wrong street.

We were going to a house party and I was feeling silly, I got into my friend's car and thrust one of those knitted toilet roll holder dolls at her saying "Ta Daaa!"

The man, sitting in the driver's seat was looking at me in horror, my mates who'd all copped on to my mistake were all on the pavement pissing themselves. I just remember saying "Oh god, sorry" over and over again, and scuttling out as fast as I could.

My actual friend was parked behind, both cars were blue, I'd had wine.
Still makes me cringe.

ilovebanff my only thinking is she had the same coloured hair and I was expecting mum any minute!

Yes, I will have to either go with the winking (like this a lot), or from now on greet everyone with a neck nuzzle and an affectionate caress of the waist, so she just thinks that's what I do.

I still feel pretty mortified by this and the thread is helping lighten the load - thanks Grin

OP,

Sharing this in the spirit of 'social inappropriateness' solidarity:

Once startled a Greek Orthodox bishop by enthusiastically kissing him.
(not in erotic manner).

Got all flustered by his severe and abrupt reputation.
He was there as a guest, seated with bride's relatives, and I worked my way along the line...handshake would've been far, far more appropriate, but the young me reasoned he was "off duty" and might feel left out.

The older members of his congregation were collectively appalled.
I imagine I am still labelled 'wanton'. Blush

There was an appalled intake of breath by his

Mortifying.
