W.

What is wrong with darked on?

What

M

ThoseFemalesAreStrongAsHell · 08/07/2017 06:16

Darked on is when you leave your clothes outside on the washing line at night and a post on mumsnet usually goes something like this

Poster 1: AIBU to leave my clothes outside tonight
Poster 2: OMG no way it cant get darked on
Poster 3: yes what about all the spiders willies ha ha ha

This goes on for a while. There are usually some posters who dont know what darked on is and will ask but everybody ignores them as its a secret mumsnet inside joke you see.

And it is Not. Funny. At. All

Sparklingbrook · 08/07/2017 06:40

I don't understand why 'darked on' causes such hilarity either.

MetallicBeige · 08/07/2017 10:16

Yes, when a poster who is obviously a bit new, or just missed out on the 'hilarious' original thread asks what the joke is, to be met with 100 posters repeating the joke, snorting, guffawing and lolling.
But never actually explaining it, even though various people by then may be asking for an explanation.

The poor poster is left like - wtf?
If I notice it in time, I endeavour to spoil the 'inside jokes' club fun, and just goddam explain it to the querying party.

Ban the Zillow

PumbletonWakeshaft · 08/07/2017 10:38

If Aldo Zilli threw a wobbly would he be called ZilliZilla?

Would you name a vicious chinchilla Chillazilla?

Could a bad loser of a pillow fight be called pilla-zilla...?

I'll get my coat.

Hmm
Nocabbageinmyeye · 08/07/2017 10:45

I'm in the down with the zilla's camp too and I wish the diagram chanters would fuck off with the zilla's, they are very annoying!!

Cancel the cheque doesn't bother me, I don't think posters are trying to be funny using that, I think they are being polite, it really translates into "Read the fucking thread and stop repeating shit that has been said a thousand times you annoying bastards" which is probably a bit too forward

DoggoslothladyA · 08/07/2017 10:57

Calm down Hun xxxxx don't get your knickers in a TWISTzilla

gingerchampion · 08/07/2017 11:16

ThoseFemales: Thankyou for explaining 'darked on' - I was too scared to ask!!!

pictish · 10/07/2017 16:02

I don't give a fuck if posters put 'zilla' on the end of words as detailed in the thread you started about how annoying it is three days ago...so where does that leave us?

pictish · 10/07/2017 16:05

Whoops! Blush Grin

Onhold · 10/07/2017 16:51

You should of posted that on your own thread.
