It annoys me and it's not funny.

I don't mind hubz or xxxxxx. I really hate the use of simpley.

Onhold · 07/07/2017 22:20

Onhold · 07/07/2017 22:22

I really hate 'nip it in the bud' I feel like hipping their fucking buds

It's always the same though, some fucker says something vaguely amusing, everyone larfs their heads off, and then adopts it because they have no original humour of their own, and pack-mentality is fun and safe.

And then everyone moans about cliques.

Well make up your own fucking jokes then.

SafetyBird · 07/07/2017 22:22

I hate 'natch.'

GinIsIn · 07/07/2017 22:25

Just wanted to make sure someone had called you 'threadzilla'... As you were... Grin

ILikeyourHairyHands · 07/07/2017 22:25

I like Confused, it does what it says on the tin.

We should have a 'My eyebrows have merged with my hairline' emoticon. I'd use that. A lot.

No ambiguity there.

MetallicBeige · 07/07/2017 22:28

I can't believe how much hilarity "are you on glue" causes.

People refer to it as a mumsnet phrase, it's not. It's been around since I was young (I'm not that old, honest), and nobody in real life even says it anymore, cos it's naff.

Onhold · 07/07/2017 22:29

My eyebrows have disappeared on MN many times. I want a rolling eye emoticon.i'd wear that one out.

OP posts:
Onhold · 07/07/2017 22:31

And 'cancel the cheque' makes me want to erase MN forever.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 07/07/2017 22:36

Quite Metallic, 'Are you on glue?' has been around since the mad solvent sniffing craze of the 80's, and stopped being funny about the same time bags of bostick and sores around your mouth did (approximately 1989 when Es and better drugs became more commonly available, as an FYI for the uninformed).

ILikeyourHairyHands · 07/07/2017 22:38

Whenever anyone says 'Are you on glue?', I just have this horrible image of them primly tittering at their subversiveness.

Which is probably cruel.

Onhold · 07/07/2017 22:40

Cruel but true.

OP posts:
NonStopDisco · 07/07/2017 22:40

Is this "Zilla-gate" then?

MetallicBeige · 07/07/2017 22:41

Yes, Hairy I grew up in a quite nice village, but can clearly remember seeing and asking my man about the discarded bags in the cut-through we used to use.
She must have put the fear into me as I used to be frightened of the 'glue sniffers', like some 80s bogeyman. 😂.
Though I never actually witnessed anybody doing it, just the evidence left behind.

Anyway, it's old, and not funny. 😉

MetallicBeige · 07/07/2017 22:42

Not cruel. I'm exactly the same.

I am a horrible person.

Onhold · 07/07/2017 22:45

It's all about the laughing gas thingie now.

Are you on laughing gas?

OP posts:
ILikeyourHairyHands · 07/07/2017 22:47

No Non, it's 'Fuck-all, fuck-all', -insert your own funny phrase- because people aren't going to go round all your life MAKING YOUR FUCKING JOKES UP FOR YOU, SOME OF US PUT THE EFFORT IN, AND ITS NOT EASY, ART IS SUFFERING AND IF YOU DON'T THINK HUMOR'S AN ART THEN YOU HAVEN;T LOOKED DOWN THE FUCKING BARREL OF THE SHITTY END OF LIFE ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO LAUGH AT EVERY OTHER FUCKER'

Insert Confused or [eyebrow raise] at will.

Onhold · 07/07/2017 22:52

I just laugh at my own jokes. Works for me.

OP posts:
ILikeyourHairyHands · 07/07/2017 23:00

Me too (my previous post was one just in case anyone thought I was on a deranged rant).

Onhold · 07/07/2017 23:02

It made me laugh. Grin

OP posts:
NonStopDisco · 07/07/2017 23:12

Hairy making up my own jokes! Are you fucking kidding me, just to be told it's a repeat of someone else's? Much better to repeat everything and end up in a constant state of apathy and ennui dramatic sigh
