.....not by grabbing as much as you can get in your hand and shovelling it into your face?

And AIBU to say "can you please stop doing that so I stand a chance of actually having some"?

Oh and AIBU to think that sitting next to such a fucking greedy desperate pig is revolting?

The fact that you hate him not the popcorn

I am working on an exit strategy but its more of a long term plan, so unfortunately that means I have to put up with shit like this in the mean time.

Its the greed that gets to me. We are not well off but neither are we poor, so there is no need to fight for the biggest portion of food, yet it seems that he has to get in first for everything. You know at a buffet you take a small amount rather than pig out so that there is enough for everyone? You know how there is always someone who's plate is piled so high you would think that they hadnt eaten for a week? That would be him.

I had an ex-boyfriend like that. It was embarrassing. Even worse, his kids had learned to do it. They'd point to things on your plate while you were halfway through your dinner, and say 'Are you going to eat that? Can I have it?' It was so off-putting. Angry

I agree with you OP and I do think that grabbing as much of any shared thing as you can with no regard for the other person is very disrespectful and, leaving popcorn out of it, indicative of selfishness and deeper issues. I know someone who will literally eat most of a shared thing and look totally perplexed when it's pointed out that it's not fair (or say something like "Oh I just took a view and ate it")

Me and DH are a perfect match in popcorn eating etiquette. We both eat 2 or 3 at a time 😁

TheNaze73 · 07/07/2017 12:01

What is this piece by piece shit?? Wink

ComeTheFuck0nBridget · 07/07/2017 12:06

Piece by piece, definitely. If I'm having a treat I like to drag it out and really enjoy it. DH is a shoveler and I think he would probably write this thread in reverse about me driving him made taking so long to eat popcorn. I can see him dying to eat mine when he's finished his Grin

I do a mixture of the two a bit of shovelling and a bit of sucking individual pieces , i know someone who is like that with food cant share at all when they come to me i make plenty and they just eat and eat until its all gone ive known them to eat 3 plates of curry because they havent had to pay for it , go to theirs and youre on rations because they cant bear someone else eating food they have paid for , this person is considerably better off than me but ive never known greed like it , it is very annoying i would hate to live with someone like that
