Too have spent £100 on lunch for myself (vouchers used)

I finally found the balls strength to split from my OH a few days ago. Although I burst into tears at the thought of it all and am still not 100% confident that I can keep to this (he is begging for us to "give it another go") I know 100% that it is the right decision after everything he has put me through over the years.

So today, to cheer myself up, and congratulate myself for finally doing it I decided to go to a very posh restaurant and spend the vouchers I had been given from work ages ago on a blow out lunch.

I have sat in the sun and enjoyed lobster and champagne and haven't given two hoots to the cost as I have it covered in vouchers.

Am feeling so relived and just know that happiness without that constant burden is just around the corner Smile

seagreengirl · 06/07/2017 16:34

Oh how lovely OP...I was thinking what on earth would cost £100 for lunch, but I hadn't considered champagne!! Grin

Feast your eyes on that view and savour every morsel, you must feel as free as a bird!

Mammylamb · 06/07/2017 16:51

I am so jealous! Have a fab lunch

FruBayerischOla · 06/07/2017 17:08

Your lunch sounds a good way to mark your first step away from your STBXOH - and a new beginning for you. Very envious of your beach view (it looks a wee bit like Braye Beach on Alderney to me!)

SecondMrsAshwell · 06/07/2017 17:17

Do you deserve it?

Damn straight you do.

Not keen on lobster, but I'll come and help you with that champagne and view.

Jux · 06/07/2017 19:06

Of course you deserve it! Enjoy.

Contact your old friends too. I bet they'll be so relieved to have you back.

RortyCrankle · 06/07/2017 21:36

I'm surprised you can still post after two bottles of champagne Shock

HipsterHunter · 06/07/2017 21:37

Belle1939 · 06/07/2017 23:37

Thank you so much
I feel inspired by this more than you can imagine
I too hope I will follow u example and drink champagne and toast a fresh start

SweetLuck · 06/07/2017 23:46

Just remember, next time he says that he wants to 'give it another go', is that giving it 'another go' hardly every works. When it's over, it's over.

SweetLuck · 06/07/2017 23:48

The freedom of being single after years of an unhappy marriage is a joy like no other.

Hope your hangover's not too bad Grin

BoldKitties · 06/07/2017 23:57

Congratulations! And fair play to you, you're dead right. Sounds like a lovely way to spend an afternoon, and to celebrate having made a massive decision, and also your newfound freedom. I hope you really enjoyed yourself. 🍾
