Too have spent £100 on lunch for myself (vouchers used)

I finally found the balls strength to split from my OH a few days ago. Although I burst into tears at the thought of it all and am still not 100% confident that I can keep to this (he is begging for us to "give it another go") I know 100% that it is the right decision after everything he has put me through over the years.

So today, to cheer myself up, and congratulate myself for finally doing it I decided to go to a very posh restaurant and spend the vouchers I had been given from work ages ago on a blow out lunch.

I have sat in the sun and enjoyed lobster and champagne and haven't given two hoots to the cost as I have it covered in vouchers.

Am feeling so relived and just know that happiness without that constant burden is just around the corner Smile

Unfortunately no hot waiters to peeve look at but a beautiful setting and glorious weather so what more could a girl want.

Good for you... They are your vouchers, so no guilt, just pleasure.

WegmansCookies · 06/07/2017 15:29

Sounds amazing! Congratulations!!

tofollowtheclouds · 06/07/2017 15:30

5more the vouchers weren't given by colleagues but were a gift from work a while back for dealing with a bloody tough situation but at the same time I'm sure work would want me to enjoy them properly so I'm of course doing this in their honour lol

Fantastic. Now have some strawberries and cream to go with the next glass of champagne.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 06/07/2017 15:37

You rock! I'm in the same boat as you but planning a wardrobe overhaul and possibly a little botox.

Irish coffee to finish?

Lemonnaise · 06/07/2017 15:40

Sounds absolutely perfect. What a great way to mark the 'occasion', enjoy every minute of it.

5moreminutes · 06/07/2017 15:45

Ah sorry - well then you deserve it even more :o

problembottom · 06/07/2017 15:46

Lobster and champagne in the sun sounds truly fabulous to me.

tofollowtheclouds · 06/07/2017 15:46

I've just ordered my second bottle of champagne, will be getting a taxi home rather than walking!

Also may have just booked a holiday for next month.

At least I was the (only) breadwinner so I know I can continue without having to cut back. Sorry if that sounds crass but I spent so much money supporting him I just want to embrace being able to spend my money on me again.

tofollowtheclouds · 06/07/2017 16:02

I'm off to Switzerland, I have extended family there so am hiring a car and doing a bit of a round trip to see them all. Haven't seen many of them for a good few years so will be so good to catch up and of course another excuse to eat good food and drink far too much wine!!
