I have failed as a mother.
I gave my children very humdrum and boring names.
They won't get anywhere in life.....they're doomed.
What kind of name is this.....really?????

To be jealous of Jacob Rees Moggs......

shivermytimbers · 05/07/2017 22:45

Never be jealous of Jacob rees-mogg OP! Because... well... he's Jacob rees-mogg.
And no one wants that! Shock

winglesspegasus · 05/07/2017 22:46

sixtus means polished

sextus means six

just find names like this cruel
doesnt anyone think about the actual child when they name them
parents ego should not come into play in naming
bad enough the jr sr first second third.thats caring on a hereditary name i get that. dont really agree but i get it.
dn is 3rd and only person except bro with that last name
they dont want to lose the name.

KatherinaMinola · 05/07/2017 22:46

Victoria Coren does. She fancies him.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/07/2017 22:47

That infant already looks embarrassed . . .

fakenamefornow · 05/07/2017 22:48

Looks like that baby has just been born and is in hospital. So I'm, distracted by him wearing a suit and tie to attend a birth.

Lockheart · 05/07/2017 22:48

I quite like the names Blush although I agree they're a - bold? -choice in today's world.

SnowiestMountain · 05/07/2017 22:49

I really hope he keeps going to call an 8th, a girl for convenience in this case Octavia!

Carouselfish · 05/07/2017 22:58

Ah, he's already a pseudo double-barrel. That's worse in my mind. The great and famous aristocratic families of Rees and Moggs, whose names must be preserved. Hmm

user1495390685 · 05/07/2017 23:03

He is actually an incredibly popular MP and is best mates with Mhairi Black. Yes, google it!

Dawndonnaagain · 05/07/2017 23:05

Katherine, really. One generation doesn't count and his father really was a dreadful little man. Wrote for the Daily Mail for a while.

blankpieceofpaper · 05/07/2017 23:05

I know Mrs R-M - they stable their ponies in the same yard as us.

Ponies have perfectly normal names!

UrsulaPandress · 05/07/2017 23:08

How disappointing

OvertiredandConfused · 05/07/2017 23:11

I was at university with JRM (got there from a bog standard comprehensive school) and he is a great character - amusing, kind, all the things that go against the caricature that we assume goes with him.

Fuxfurforall · 05/07/2017 23:13

Two words - Sixtus Mogg.

It sounds like cockney rhyming slang.

MusicForTheJiltedGeneration · 05/07/2017 23:13

Slightly odd names are not unknown in the Rees-Mogg family. His sister is called Annunziata.

winglesspegasus · 05/07/2017 23:16

and to fit the bill mary will be muffy fluffy tiggy ad nauseum

Riversleep · 05/07/2017 23:20

Annunziata is another Catholic name. It's my grandmothers name (ish) in a different language because she was born on the feast of something or other that I can't remember. My name means ascension in the same language because I was born on the feast of the Ascension of the Virgin Mary.

UrsulaPandress · 05/07/2017 23:22

Those damn Catholics.

BroomstickOfLove · 05/07/2017 23:28

DD has a fairly OTT name: one obscure classical name, one family name, one saint who is rarely mentioned in the UK which is also a family name, and a double barreled surname. She likes it.

UrsulaPandress · 05/07/2017 23:31

My DD has a double barrelled surname and a Shakespearean middle name which she hates.

Pretentious moi?
