Apart from no sex Grin I realise this isn't unreasonable, but I couldn't think where else to put it.
I gave birth 4 months ago, I've just had a chemical pregnancy and I'm heartbroken. I NEED contraception but I can't think what's good
I'm not aloud the injection, implant or patch. The thought of a coil or iud thingy makes me so queezy. I'm currently taking the mini pill but I can't remember when I'm taking it or if I have Blush so I don't count on that working. My partner can't really use condoms. What else is there that's relatively good?

If you are on the mini-pill (progesterone method) why would you not be allowed the implant (progesterone method)??

Exactly what I thought. When I requested the implant, I was put onto the mini pill first for three months to make sure I could tolerate that well before they'd put in the implant.

Fs it's one mispelled word,
I know why I'm not allowed the patch etc but the implant has the same stuff as the mini pill and I don't know why I'm allowed one and not the other.
Phoned my local health clinic and need to have a consultation first before fitting, no consultation available until the 20th August Hmm
I don't want the mirena a few have said it went into their c section scar and that would be my worst nightmare. I also did try to have that fitted Jan last year and they couldn't get it in

Copper coil. Once put in, that's it. Doesn't move. My GP said could be fitted any day in your cycle.

I would persevere with the mini pill - if you take it first thing when you get up, brush teeth, shower etc it's not hard to get in a routine. Mine even has day labelled foil so you know you have taken it.

Babymamamama · 06/07/2017 14:55

I didn't like the mirena. I'm much happier on the copper coil. It's nice to know it's sorted and there and I don't have to remember to take or top up anything.

KimmySchmidt1 · 06/07/2017 14:57

The mirena coil is the best - its what all doctors/nurses/staff in obstetrics use.

Absolutely no hassle, nothing to remember, no mood swings, period or period pain, works for 5 years. Totally brilliant.

I had mine taken out on 28 Jan and was pregnant by mid April, so no delay for me on fertility either.

You are being silly saying it makes you feel queezy - it is a very very minor procedure.

Copper coil was absolutely horrendous for me. Agonising pain getting it in - they gave up in the end and sent me to a clinic who gave me a local first. Then I had similar problems to Uterus - 10+ days of heavy, heavy bleeding (through a tampon and a pad within an hour), cramps that left me breathless, sweating and on the floor in agony. Stuck at it for 8 months and then gave up. Having it out was such a relief, I couldn't believe how painless my next period was.

It doesn't happen to everyone but I wish I'd known before I decided that it could be so awful.

Mirena coil all the way here, it's fantastic!
