To think this is rude?

My friend is getting married soon and we were talking about last minute wedding plans etc

She said that after the meal her and her groom are going to retreat to their suite for an hour to reflect on the day and to have some alone time before the evening guests arrive.

My first thought was that it was really rude to leave your guests in the lurch for an hour. Most of whom who have travelled and paid money to share your day and you've buggared off.

But then I wondered if this was a great idea? You're so busy during the day that maybe some alone time with your new husband/wife is lovely.

AIBU to think this sounded a bit rude or is it in fact a great idea?

Me and dp are planning to take a short break after the photos, but probably more like 10 minutes, just to have a bit of time for us.
Absolutely no way are we having a shag though, I'm paying a fucking fortune for my hair

I think this is a fab idea! I wish my DH and I had done this. I loved our wedding but barely saw DH as we were too busy chatting to other people. I know that's to be expected but a quick half hour to reflect and catch our breath would have been lovely.

Keepthebloodynoisedown totally agree about the hair!Grin

I was at a wedding where the bride a groom did this. They scarpered straight after dinner and we gone for a good while.
They were very religious and had 'saved' themselves until marriage. They probably just couldn't wait any longer.
