To astro turf my garden?

I put beautiful turf down and it's sadly looks like the pennines now: bumpy and lots of dead patches.

Astro turf would mean minimal maintenance and would look good, not good for environment though and pricey.

Wibu to astro turf it? If not, how does one maintain a lawn?

Hmm I will take our patchy weedy lawn over a fake one anyday. We have sloworms hedgehogs and all sorts. Not sure you would have that on a fake one.

How can astroturf look great? It just looks fake.

But, what do people do with AstroTurf & dogs? I have two dogs, would you have to scrape the poo off and then get a wipe to get it off the plastic? What about diarrhoea, wee

You do the same as you do with natural grass
Use a bag to pick up poo and use a hose to rinse away diarrhoea

We have a south facing garden, and the dogs wee in the same small patch so it gets a bit stinky on summer when the sun is on it unless we use the powerhose on it every few weeks

Other than that, and a weekly sweep to get rid of leaves when they are falling from the trees, it needs no maintenance

I don't understand Astro turf. We have a dog and a toddler and are both busy with full time work and long commutes. This means our front and back lawns don't look like the manicured lawns of the Retired NDN.

But they are wonderful places - bits of clover, mowing every three weeks or so, bordered by cottage garden perennials and annuals in no particular sequence, lavender and thyme spilling over the edges and varieties bees buzzing around.

There sure isn't any order to it, there sure are a fair few wildflowers that NDN detests, and we sure don't have time.

But toddler, dog and us find it soothing and just fine :)
