Ok so she sent me a few more messages about how they just assumed I knew what they needed and didn't think they needed to spell it out for me! Saying that they do not know how they are expected to pay for childcare that they hadn't budgeted for as they was relying on me to provide it. And I shouldn't of said I could help if I wasn't willing to do so.

It never fails to amaze me how people can just assume others will look after their kids for nothing, as a favour like this - okay, maybe a one off when it's an emergency or people doing it between them to help each other out, but this bloody hell!!! What an entitled, rude, stupid bitch to assume you have 'free' time so it won't be a problem - she must be a total lunatic to even consider this is acceptable. You are good though because you've been a lot more polite than you needed to be in the circumstances.

Years ago I met a woman at toddler group and after two meetings, she wanted me to keep her son at ours while she went on holiday - she sounded like your nutcase when she said, he won't be a problem (he was always filthy and snotty and badly behaved surprisingly) .. I laughed, then glared and said 'absolutely no way' - never saw her again funnily enough!
