I'm on a family holiday in a Mediterranean resort and guess who else is staying here?

I'm sorely tempted to go up and tell her what a horrible, hate filled, divisive person she is and that most educated and intelligent people in the country despise what she stands for.

I doubt she will give a flying fuck about whispered insults and dirty looks. Anyone doing that would just look like a fool.

After she was fired she was in the news for her affair with a married man.

And I don't flatter myself that she's sitting on her phone reading this thread. She has the whole of Twitter and the readership of the Sun /Daily Fail / Best magazine , I don't think she's bothered about a few Mumsnetters.

I would never dream of saying anything ( on holiday ) to , for example, a politician I disagreed with. But KH is in a whole different league of unpleasantness. She spouts hate speech , I have no idea why she hasn't been charged with incitement to racial hatred.

I've just remembered that a common claim among holocaust deniers is that Hitler used the phrase 'final solution' to mean 'the Jews going off to live in a happy land of fluffy unicorns', and to imply he meant otherwise is a dreadful slur on the poor chap.

So maybe some people have heard the phrase but are quibbling over the definition?

I find it hard to believe that people haven't heard this. It's not a gap in knowledge it's a huge fucking crater. It's a phrase used even these days as shorthand for horror, genocide and mass murder. She used it knowingly (getting paid to whip up outrage) - and should have been cautioned by the police station the least. Journalists - both and crayon scribblers - are supposed to check their facts and write knowledgeably about subjects they understand or have read up about. Any her editor/sub needs a kick up the backside too for not spiking it.

She just scribbles hate filled sound bites and trumpesque phrases. She really is a twit.

If you have an occasion to chat, just ask what she does for a living.

I think most people understand fully that she does what she does deliberately in order to make money. However, the job she does is not one that anyone remotely needs to do, nor one that any decent person would want to do. The fact that she does it, and clearly enjoys it, speaks volumes about her.

I think the fact that she does it for money - which, duhhh, we are all well aware of - makes it a bit worse. Yes, she is most likey playing up the pantomine villain persona but do we actually need one?

She's doing it for a job but I don't remember seeing 'shit stirrer' or 'inciter to hatred' as an option at career day.

I wouldn't do it. The best thing you can do is to pretend you don't know who she is.
Mean remarks would only fire her up and show her she is still popular. Remember, she thrives on people noticing her and what she says. Ignoring her is the worst thing that could happen to her.

People loved what Farage and the far-right Tories (who are now mainstream Tories) had to tell them because it sounded good and confirmed all their bias, prejudice and people's natural inclination to clanish behaviour.
They listened to Katie Hopkins because "she says as it is", even though what she says is a very warped reality. But once again, it plays on all primeval instincts of people and offers easy solutions without actually trying to connect cause with consequence.
So people voted for Brexit, they really believed that it's the immigrants stealing British jobs and destroying the NHS. They elected Tories twice within two years even though the Tories nowadays sound more like the UKIP.
They would vote for Tories the third time despite Grenfell, despite knowing that police cuts caused that terrorists who were reported to police were not dealt with because they had no manpower.

So no, she will never be incited because many people in Britain like what she says and how she says it and because she offers ready-made ideas and solutions. She's the Iceland store for the British population when it comes to having an opinion.
She won't be incited in a society where the labels "controversial" and "straight-talking" are put on hatred and demagogy and people swallow it, hook, line and sinker.

I think she isnt worth wasting time on, probably doesnt have a conscience to make the kind of observations she does. Dont let her ruin your holiday, dont give her the "airtime" or the time of day.

Complete waste of time to confront her. I remember her on The Apprentice. She's not stupid, just amoral with a fondness for cash and attention.

Why? Enjoy your holiday and leave her.

You'll go up, have a go at her (she doesn't care you know, she'll say what she wants if it pays the mortgage I doubt with her readership you'll be the first person to have a go at her). Then you'll be all cross, worked up, probably angry that you haven't made her see the light of her ways, and ruin your own holiday as you'll probably sit seething and mulling over the exchange all evening.

If she's with her family I definitely wouldn't.
