Just that really! How many pairs of trousers/shirts/jumpers do they actually need.

Sorry I haven't RTFT but I have 3 dc and have 5 x polo tops / shirts so that I do one whites wash at the weekend and 3 x trousers / sweatshirts so I do can one wash mid week. 1 x PE kit per child. (My younger two can't wear trousers or sweatshirt more than one day as invariably something gets spilt / wiped on them)

Oops! Sorry!

My DD1 managed to come home filthy / covered in paint etc every day in reception. So she had 5 of each thing and 2 lots of PE kit.

Now she's in year one I can mostly get a couple of wears out of things, so need less. I envy people who's children can keep stuff clean.

5 lots of everything!

Dd is a mucky pup and also lost of couple of cardigans despite them all being labelled.

Xmasbaby11 · 02/07/2017 22:21

5 skirts
5 summer dresses
5 cardigans
3 jumpers
12 polo tops
2 pe kits
5 school socks

Also had to buy more after first term as some got stained or lost and she grew out of some. Oh and she cut a massive hole in one top!

LaPampa · 02/07/2017 22:22

We only had 2 tops until we moved into summer term whereby I got 4 dresses. She can occasionally re-wear something but will be getting 4 tops for next term. So many weeks I would have to radiator dry a top overnight.

I found Asda and Sainsbury's uniform to be surprisingly hard wearing.

It depends how often you plan to wash stuff, and how much space you have to store stuff.

There's no point buying five pairs of trousers or whatevs if you do a washload every day and just end up rotating the same two pairs.

We've already finished up for hols ( Scotland) and can second that my two boys' uniforms survived the entire year. M&S- trousers stay smart, shirts stay white, jumpers stay in shape. And their reinforced, padded socks are the dogs'- both say are so comfy ( and DS2 very particular about socks and shoes). Shoes also survived all year DS1(12) black leather Vans ( surprisingly brilliant) DS2 (10) Clarks, and both are heavy on shoes -footy etc.
DS3 starts Primary 1 in August. They wear shirt and tie 3 days and polo the other 2 (PE days for ease of changing).
I've bought :
3 trousers, 3 shorts, 2 jumpers, 3 tank tops , 2 sweatshirts, 1 Blazer
4 Polos, 6 shirts - I like to have enough for 2 weeks' worth as always have ridiculous amounts of laundry with 3 dirty, rugby boys and OH. Perhaps looks excessive on paper but all.these years I've never had to buy extra ( unless DS1 has grown out of trousers, he's 5foot 8 already and is 12!).
Just did huge order online M&S for the 20%.

2 of everything.

That worked for expensive special uniforms abroad and cheaper more generic uniforms here.

The bastards can grow out of things in a week. A WEEK I TELL YA!
