Or consider any kind of direct action against a hospital because of decisions concerning any individual patient.

It's irresponsible.

Ugh, remember baby Dax. And the way the parents crowdfunded for everything from a cot to clothes and a pram, like they hadn't previously considered that a pregnancy leads to a baby.

More fool the people who donated.

squashit just put this excellent link on the other thread
well worth a full read

MirandaWest · 02/07/2017 00:44

Have just read (not in full detail but pretty much all it) the details of the high court decision and appeal. Gives a lot of facts. Thank you for linking to it.

Some of my Friends on FB are still circulating that there is a 'protest' today at Buckingham Palace, and trying to get others to help people get there, WTAF!? One commenter said although she couldn't get there as her child was very sick she would still be at GOSH. Does this mean she will be protesting at the hospital that's caring for her child? Or are people really still going to GOSH aswell? Is this with the consent of Charlie's Parents?! I know they have misguidedly and imo foolishly fanned the flames of social media at times but really none of these people are giving them or Charlie a second thought if they think mounting disruption and protest in the hospital where they're trying to peacefully spend their last minutes with their son is a good idea. In fact they are totally crackers and plain wrong. It really highlights the sorts of stupid people in this country who will always willingly think the opposite to the knowledgeable 'experts' (like that's a bad thing) and apparently go to any lengths to feel they're having their idiotic voices heard! This makes me so angry!! All I can hope is only a few of the nutters turn up...

Pop24 · 02/07/2017 09:02

Lets also not forget that they've asked for privacy at this time!

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 02/07/2017 09:33

Well it's hit facebook but in another EU country ! Who don't speak English and can't read the case Angry

Puzzledandpissedoff · 02/07/2017 11:17

Lets also not forget that they've asked for privacy at this time!

And a good thing too. I absolutely appreciate that Charlie's mum and dad will hardly be able to think straight at this dreadful time, but can't help regretting that they plastered this across social media in the first place

I also wonder if GOSH made this new call for privacy some sort of condition to whatever concessions they've made regarding "more time". On the face of it that might sound a little harsh, but given the manic threats being thrown around on Twatter, etc, it would be hard to blame them

Pop24 · 02/07/2017 11:38

I wondered that too puzzled. The parents tone suddenly changed from attacking the hospital as 'heartless' to 'they've given us more time ect' seemed slightly more like they were working with them. I also wondered if the parents realised themselves things had got out of hand with the online threats ect and have tried to reign it back in a bit. Or maybe they sensed a lot of public opinion was turning on the was the social media campaign was going and many were set on defending GOSH (I appreciate that's being a little cynical). they have entrusted much of the running of SM to friends/family so they can't be blamed for everything posted.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 02/07/2017 12:00

they can't be blamed for everything posted

Yes that's very true, and I agree with you that there definitely seems a different "tone" now which is surely better for everyone involved, especially the poor parents. In the difficult days ahead it seems to me that social media angst is something they shouldn't have to deal with on top of everything else

Of course we only hear about this kind of sadness when there's disagreement; it's all too easy to forget all those who've suffered the loss of a much loved family member but felt able to go along with the hospitals' gentle guidance ... and IME it is usually gentle and compassionate, however much some might unkindly portray them as uncaring automatons

SerfTerf · 02/07/2017 14:19

The Buckingham Palace protest was scheduled for 1pm. I wonder how many actually turned up. "Bring the MRIs with you" is perplexing.

It's sad and scary!

Stopnamechanging · 02/07/2017 14:41

HeyRoly I was a big contributor to that thread about Dax and had some incredibly nasty responses. Lots of threads about it were removed too which I felt was incredibly stifling of the issue.

MusicForTheJiltedGeneration · 02/07/2017 15:02

It did turn into a bit of a bunfight @Stopnamechanging because the thread was invaded by the parent's supporters. I think that was probably the reason the original threads got blasted. After that, however, I seem to remember any thread about the issue was shut down irrespective of how posters conducted themselves.

The fundraising was very dodgy, mainly led by the owner of the gym where the mother worked. Lots of tin rattling along with the Go Fund Me account and some alleged charity in his name that wasn't actually a charity.

In the end they tied themselves up in knots by refusing to say what was being done with the considerable funds raised and started asking people to donate direct to Ronald McDonald house instead of them. From memory a lot of their supporters got the arse about that saying they wanted their money to go to 'Baby Dax' rather than other equally deserving families and children. Thoroughly unpleasant and came across as a total scam for a number of reasons. Daddy was desperate for clean pants but instead of going to a laundrette they were appearing in TV interviews every 5 minutes.

MusicForTheJiltedGeneration · 02/07/2017 15:05

As for this Buckingham Palace protest and those banners I am sitting her looking like this ---> Shock I wonder if this was led by that dumb cow who posted that they should get the Queen involved.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 02/07/2017 15:06

There's also calls to do ones elsewhere in people's local towns..all of this because of some 'leaked' scan that they don't seem to grasp the meaning of

Stopnamechanging · 02/07/2017 15:07

After that, however, I seem to remember any thread about the issue was shut down irrespective of how posters conducted themselves

Yes, it was infuriating and censoring, it was starting to happen again with these threads but they seemed to have stopped deleting them now.

I am so sad at the behaviour of the people on that Facebook page, it shows such an ugly side to humans.

MusicForTheJiltedGeneration · 02/07/2017 15:11

@LetsGoFlyAKitee* If they do a protest in my local town/hospital they'll be grateful for the services of A&E because I'll be a gnat's fart away from headbutting the fuckers Angry

SerfTerf · 02/07/2017 15:24

@Venusflytwat has posted an excellent explanation of the MRI result on the other thread. She also tried to post it to the hunning FB group apparently but it wasn't approved. They don't actually want fact or explanation.

OP posts:
MusicForTheJiltedGeneration · 02/07/2017 15:29

Just taken a look at the CA page, I swear I lose a few IQ points every time I read their drivel.

"I have just spoken to a Dr at Birmingham Children's hospital (I know him very well) and he has said whilst it isn't is field of expertise (he is oncology) he will speak to someone and get back to me tomorrow as he is about to go on shift."

Well, while you're waiting why not get a second opinion from your Vet or Dentist as they probably have the same amount of knowledge about this condition as the Onc doctor.

As for the Teletubby style cheesy pictures, I have no words ...

WankYouForTheMusic · 02/07/2017 15:36

Nobody will come to protests in people's local towns. By the looks of the live feeds, there aren't a great many at Buckingham Palace.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 02/07/2017 15:37

''For any of us going to the protest today, I think it is important that if anybody gets interviewed by the press, they should make the point that GOSH's reasons for Charlie not being allowed to go home, is a red herring. It is not because they are worried that Connie and Chris will seek additional treatment elsewhere, but that they fear a post mortem ever being conducted, which would reveal that they misled the high court''

Just what?!?!

QueenoftheAndals · 02/07/2017 15:59

Oh dear god, just saw the protest is live on Facebook. What a bunch of ignoramuses.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 02/07/2017 16:42

Oh now it's candles and local protests even if it's just one person doing it cause that has a impact ..the chant is also about sending him to the USA..lovely

SerfTerf · 02/07/2017 17:06

In case anyone else is considering it (I think they could do with support in whatever form);
