Tories have done a deal with the DUP. And it only cost 1 billion.

What a bargain.

Hmmm. What shall I do to pass all these shitty laws? I know, I need a majority! Let's have an election so I can get a stronger mandate!

Oh shit, I lost my majority. Don't worry, I can link up with the DUP!

Yay for democracy.

So there IS a magic money tree!

Maybe they can use some of the money to bring NI into line with the rest of the UK in providing decent support and clinical care for women in need of abortion...

Tapandgo · 26/06/2017 22:35

The agreement will ultimately cost a lot more than that. This odious Tory Government being propped up with an even more odious DUP - racist, terrorist supporting, bigoted fundamentalists who sneer at human rights.

A diabolical alliance that will cost us dear in so many ways.

purpleleotard · 26/06/2017 22:40

I would have voted for the devil incarnate if the government had promised to spend £1000,000,000 on my area.
Still I wonder where the money is coming from?
The services that i am used to will be cut to pay for this; there is no magic money tree.
Just gives politician a bad name, buying votes just like 'Rotten Boroughs'.
Did the Reform act do nothing to stop political corruption.
Shake hands then count your fingers, with the prime minister............
Just utterly disgusting.
Buy your way to power............yea go for it Theresa.

MissDuke · 26/06/2017 22:41

I will be very interested to see what happens now with regards to power sharing, with the deadline coming very close. Will be interesting to see if Sinn Fein can also be bought.

ssd · 26/06/2017 22:46

Sinn Fein don't want to be part of the UK, they wouldn't be bought anyway

KindleBueno · 26/06/2017 22:49

Their statement was pretty clear earlier. I read it as if the Irish Language Act isn't agreed then they'll not be playing ball.

MiddleEnglandLives · 26/06/2017 23:04

Corrupt, hypocritical and unbelievably arrogant. How have we come to this.

theymademejoin · 26/06/2017 23:27

Ssd - yes they did.

I've heard the current agreement described as "Cash for sash"Smile

Sunnymorningwithbacon · 27/06/2017 09:28

@Somerville have you seen the front page of the BelTel this morning? I do hope that's not to whom your name refers

Somerville · 27/06/2017 09:38

Sunny Confused Why would I have a username that refers to a loyalist terrorist through anything other than coincidence? I'm an Irish pacifist!
Somerville is a common enough surname, an Oxford college, and the name of my favourite literary heroine.

Totallyblurred · 27/06/2017 09:47

Bullshit Is that benefiting the people in NI.
The DUP are the same as the tories.

Sunnymorningwithbacon · 27/06/2017 10:09

Somerville I didn't think so but I thought perhaps it wasn't the best name to have given the front page of the paper and you might want to know

Somerville · 27/06/2017 10:33

I've had this name for far too long to arse around changing it just because of some long-dead UVF loser. Smile

Sunnymorningwithbacon · 27/06/2017 10:51

I just meant on this thread - I was a bit shocked and didn't think you'd be making a point but given the thread I was just ... tying myself in knots :)

Andrewofgg · 27/06/2017 14:52

Littledrummergirl I wish NI would bring its laws on abortion and SSM into line with GB but money won't change the opinions of an NI electorate which thinks otherwise, will it?

The fact is that these are devolved matters and not TM's business.
