Just that. I wear plain, low-heel, sensible shoes for work and, although I probably do walk more than most people, they don't seem to last that long before the heels are falling apart or they let in water. Where's best for long lasting, good quality shoes?

Dr Martens. I get around 18 months of constant heavy daily wear per pair, so I would expect shoes worn for indoor work plus shortish walking part of a journey to work to last at least three years.

Expensive shoes don't wear well! Not designed for walking...

M&S boat shoes, a year old now and still fine. Very comfortable. I got them to wear after surgery but have hardly worn any others! Before that I was wearing Ecco.
