Just that really. Your favourite books/authors from when you were a child. What's the one book you believe every child should read? I'm trying to build up a bit of a library for the dc's and need some inspiration. Smile

The Wind in the Willows. I was given it when I was six and read it over one long glorious day. And I still have that copy and read it again from time to time.

Lovely memories! I must have read The Borrowers a hundred times. And I had forgotten about The Little Princess with truly horrid Miss Minchin! Has anyone said Little Women? I also remember books by Ursula Leguin (sp) about the ancient world.

The Worst Witch series is very good.

Love Harry Potter.

My favourite story, however, is the Story of Kitty Kitty Puffball III: the Kitten Who Lost his Nose. Grin

Thank you all so much! Loads of books I've not heard of ( and will look forward to reading!) and lots of ones I'd forgotten I knew. Lots of trying to track them down on eBay I think!
