£400 a month to live in a furnished bog in Yorkshire?

SomeOtherFuckers · 22/06/2017 23:25

Put some walls around the toilet and it'd be pretty good!

OhTheRoses · 22/06/2017 23:29

It's a very comfortable shitting room.

Boynamedsue · 22/06/2017 23:33

£100 a week for a couple of armchairs in a bog in wakey?! You could rent a 3 bed semi for that!

MinesaLattecino · 22/06/2017 23:35

For a moment there I thought Wakefield was some new property hotspot. Nope, you can rent a whole, normal, non-pissing-in-front-of-the-TV flat for #400 a month, - example A: www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/property-60447982.html so what the jeff is going on with this one?

Foniks · 22/06/2017 23:57

Perfect for people who've been institutionalised and recently released, missing home comforts like shitting where they sleep.

alpacasandwich · 23/06/2017 00:01

It's the attention to detail that makes it weird. Someone carefully set up the mirrors, the TVs, the matching chests of drawers and little paintings.

They made artistic choices as to how to style that house.

Yet at no point did they think "a bathroom-slash-living-room.. maybe that's a bit fucking odd"?

PossibiliTea · 23/06/2017 00:02

Wha...

Unihorn · 23/06/2017 00:09

I stayed in a hotel with a shower in the corner of the room in London once. And my roommate in our shared university house had an "ensuite" which was a kitchen unit, a disconnected gas cooker and a shower. It was fucking bizarre.

sabs22 · 23/06/2017 00:10

Surely the 'bathroom' area could be sectioned off in some way? If so it would potentially be a cracking wee room.

Reminds of going to view a flat, being shown round and there's the smallest bathroom I've ever seen, don't worry says the estate agent, there's a shower in the bedroom! Aw wow an en suite! Eh no, a shower cubicle in the corner of the room! The estate agent excitedly pointed out that it even had its own light! Confused

MrsOverTheRoad · 23/06/2017 00:31

This is illegal. Report the buggers!

Puddington · 23/06/2017 00:34

Haha! Two friends and I were once staying for literally about 24 hours in Paris to see a concert and so we picked the cheapest/closest hotel and just all shared a room (two double beds), but it didn't mention anything about the bizarre shower cubicle just openly plonked in one corner of the room. It was funny at the time but I wouldn't like one in my actual house!

PenguinBollard · 23/06/2017 00:42

Bahahahaha. Love it

Squarerouteofsquirrel · 23/06/2017 00:46

He has a second property listed for a slightly more affordable £90 pw, double room that one, no ensuite for the price conscious amongst us. No photographs, but does say it has heated outdoor swimming pool.

zoemaguire · 23/06/2017 00:50

I'd assumed this was somewhere in say zone 2-3 London and thought 'well, the loo is a bit odd, and the bars on the windows are grim, but could be a lot worse' - but in Wakefield?!!!! For 400 pounds a month? I mean, nothing against Wakefield, but, well, it looks like they haven't quite twigged that price and location are, er, quite related.

Cocklodger · 23/06/2017 01:57

Confusedi lived in something much like that when I first left home ( :( ) years ago, but I'm very saddened and baffled that this is still happening. And in Yorkshire Confused Confused

WomanScorned · 23/06/2017 02:05

Grin squirrel
Is it definitely p/w? Looks to me more like an air bnb listing Confused

WomanScorned · 23/06/2017 02:07

Which would make it £100 a night...

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 23/06/2017 02:26

Oh ha ha that's brilliant Grin

Love that you can actually get a proper flat for that much too!

Shootfirstaskquestionslater · 23/06/2017 02:27

There's an en suite and then there's this who wants the loo in the living room.

Sprinklestar · 23/06/2017 02:44

That can't be legal?!

PyongyangKipperbang · 23/06/2017 02:56

We stayed in a self catering "apartment" on holiday once that had a shower plonked in the corner of the bedroom. It just had a shower curtain so it was the devils own job to stop it pissing out all over the carpet. It looked like it was DIY'd.

In the lounge/diner/kitchenette you could either cook and sit at the table, or sit on the sofa. The sofa had to be shoved all against the bedroom door if you need access to the kitchenette because despite being a small room with only one bedroom, so only suitable for a couple, they squashed in a full three piece suite and a table and chairs for 4. Doing anything involved a full obstacle course. Lucikly it was clean and cheap!

LadyLannister · 23/06/2017 06:27

I've lived in Wakefield my whole life and it is a right shithole. £100pw!!!!!!

LadyLannister · 23/06/2017 06:28

Posted too soon. Can't see how a normal flat in Wakefield is worth £400 per month let alone that monstrosity. You could probably rent a 3 bed house for an extra £50 per week. Madness!!!

MackerelOfFact · 23/06/2017 06:33

Is "shared house" a euphemism for "prison"?!
