To think DH is being silly and I'll be fine to drive home?

I have always been in rude health so accept my judgement may be a little off BUT

I have to have a biopsy on a suspected cancerous area on my skin. It's not removal of the bloody thing, it's just a biopsy to see what we're dealing with so I don't want to make a fuss. The letter says it will be one under local anaesthetic so I have assumed that I'll have a bit of the thing taken for analysis, get in my car and go back to work. DH is insisting he comes with me, drives me home and I 'rest' for the day.

Now, I know he's being lovely and all that but I just want to have it done and get back to work so I don't have to think about it too much. He's worrying me even more by just trying to be nice, but I honestly think I'll be totally fine. Am I being niaive or is he over reacting?

Having had a basal cell carcinoma removed from my face, I can tell you to expect to feel a bit shell shocked ... I had to have repeated top-ups of the local anaesthetic to allow the surgery, I had my face covered in green theatre drapes throughout the procedure, but could smell my own skin being cauterised. It was a very surreal experience. Personally I'm still traumatised thinking about it now.
If it were me I'd take the lift home and see if you feel up to doing anything later.....hope it all goes well ❤️

I was going to say the same as purpleflowers - let him take you then afterwards spend a nice day together. Go for a meal or a walk or something else you enjoy.

I had a lesion biopsised on my temple and it was totally fine under local ....... you do have to be green papered up across your face and I had one stitch to pull together the punch hole but it was totally fine. I then drove myself home, which was a 30 minute drive ........ but I knew I'd be fine before I went, I wasnt particularly nervous and just treated it a bit like having a piercing lol. BUT the doctor did comment on how calm I was and I think people do normally get more agitated so if you think you might be anxious on the day I'd take the lift from your DH

I had a local for a lump removed from my fanjo lips, no problem for me to drive after!

If its on your face though would you maybe have a bog dressing that might obscure vision??

Argh, BIG dressing - obviously
