Panty liners with lactic acid - WTF??

The perfumed ones are bad enough but now these? AIBU to want just good old unscented liners? Fortunately they're still available but seem few and far between!

So these are bought by teens and women in their 20s judging by comments so far. Another reason why I am grateful to be the generation above. You seriously don't smell. Yes you have a natural odour but why does that need to be masked?

Turn away if offended

Also to be blunt I have had relationships with women and all that perfume tastes shite and gets up your nose.

therootoftheroot · 21/06/2017 19:35

the orony of people wearing panty liners becayse they get thrush

just do a bit of googling

The use of skin-occlusive products such as panty liners, especially scented liners, is known to raise skin pH and is associated with skin infections of Candida albicans. Women who are prone to recurring yeast infections shouldn’t use panty liners because they can prevent air flow and trap moisture, creating the kind of conditions that will promote yeast cell growth and make it worse.

Sittinginthesun · 21/06/2017 19:38

I suspect many of us aged 40 upwards have moved onto TENA Ladies instead. Smile

msgrinch · 21/06/2017 19:40

MrsPear what makes you think I'm a teen or in my 20's?

therootoftheroot · 21/06/2017 19:40

do you think there is a link between the women who use scented panty liners all the time and those who shave off all their pubic because of..you know..hygiene?

therootoftheroot · 21/06/2017 19:40

pubic HAIR even

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/06/2017 19:48

If you collect enough tokens do you get a wee bell to ring, and a sign to hang around your neck saying "unclean"?

chumpchange · 21/06/2017 19:49

Now that's definitely for the P-zone.

LorLorr2 · 21/06/2017 19:51

MrsPear probably, but personally I'm early 20s and refuse to fall for gimmicks if I don't need them- quite stubborn about keeping things simple and non-faff 😂

April241 · 21/06/2017 19:57

MrsPear I'm 30

Also I've tried tena and they were okay but Carefree, Always discreet and Always dailies tend to be on offer more. If Tena work out a better deal I get those!

PurpleMinionMummy · 21/06/2017 19:57

Lots of women who've switched to san pro found they no longer noticed a smell when on their period and their pads didn't smell either. Which makes you wonder if disposable pads actually cause it.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 21/06/2017 20:03

I appreciate some people want scented liners but why are they overtaking the unscented ones? Some of us don't what the vile smell of the crap they put in them but it's so much harder to find unscented liners.

AddictedToDrPepper · 21/06/2017 20:11

V-Zone... crying with laughter here!

kali110 · 21/06/2017 20:21

MrsPear did you just make an assumption that only teens and women in their 20's buy these?
Or simply wish?
Im very far from both these ages so you're wrong there...

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 21/06/2017 20:41

Nope, I'm 47 and have used them since I was about 16.

reallyreallyreallyreally · 21/06/2017 20:56

V-zone?! GrinGrinGrin

CarrotFingers · 21/06/2017 21:10

After I'd had DD I ran out of maternity pads. DH was going to Aldi and they don't so maternity pads so I said to just grab some normal towels. He came back with their own brand version of Tena Lady as he didn't realise the difference - they were so soft and comfy and absorbent!

helpimitchy · 21/06/2017 21:10

I've never, ever smelled menstrual blood coming from another woman. Sweat occasionally, but never blood or fanny odour. It's a non problem. Women have survived for thousands of years without using chemically infused pads/liners.

The washable ones are more comfortable, don't stick to you and just smell of fresh laundry.

SeaWitchly · 21/06/2017 22:00

I've never, ever smelled menstrual blood coming from another woman.

Me neither.

I am a bit horrified in awe of previous posters who claim they can smell blood or scented san pro... particularly when the 'smell fills entire office'.

This must be super sensory perception surely... how common is this phenomena actually?

Fiona1984 · 21/06/2017 22:10

I used to buy Veeda cotton disposable liners which I really liked, but they seem to have discontinued them :( . I have an IUD and could get away with just using these for my very light periods.
I'd love to get reusable ones, I'm just put off by having them hanging up drying. DP's son might ask questions. He once found one of my tampons (they get everywhere, especially with a cat) and hung it on his wardrobe lol.
