The perfumed ones are bad enough but now these? AIBU to want just good old unscented liners? Fortunately they're still available but seem few and far between!

Panty liners with lactic acid - WTF??

SOME don't want. I like it, so do my friends

Do you actually discuss it?

AdoraBell · 21/06/2017 18:10

Damn it BreakfastatSquifanys beat me to it.

Mummyoflittledragon · 21/06/2017 18:13

Better than the scented ones I think.

Panga it isn't that straight forward for some of us. I leak small amounts of blood for a week before my period and a couple of days after. So I smell. And my knickers/leggings would too. Not to mention the mess and perhaps getting onto my top/dress/trousers/coat as well as the chair I'm sitting in, which has happened before. Panty liners for me are a necessity despite showering daily.

LorLorr2 · 21/06/2017 18:16

Apologies to those who do like ones with extra features! x

msgrinch · 21/06/2017 18:22

kali same! I like them to, so do my friends. Yes we do discuss things like this, they're my friends we talk about most things.

Here we go, from the Bodyform website Wink

Bodyform answer:

V-Zone refers to the area of skin that begins under your belly button where your pubic hair growth starts, ending between your thighs (but not inside the vagina).
A major part of your V-Zone is the vulva, or external genitals, which encompasses the protective folds of the labia majora, labia minora, clitoris and the vaginal opening. There are also sebaceous glands and pubic hair.
We refer to V-Zone on the packaging of all Bodyform Daily Fresh Liners as they contain a unique ProSkin formula, which helps care for the intimate health of all of these areas.
The ProSkin formula combines a PH balanced infusion that contains mild lactic acid with a back-sheet, which is breathable, like cotton underwear.
The following products include reference to V-Zone on the packaging:
• Bodyform Daily Fresh Normal Single Wrap Liners
• Bodyform Daily Fresh Normal Liners Duo Pack
• Bodyform Daily Fresh Multistyle Liners
• Bodyform Daily Fresh Long Liners
• Bodyform Daily Fresh Extra Long Liners
• Bodyform Daily Fresh So Slim Deo-fresh Liners
• Bodyform Daily Fresh So Slim Liners

Blood has a very distinct odour. I could always clearly smell it on myself when I used pads even though I changed them at least every few hours, and I can smell it on other women. The scented variety weren't around as much when I still used them, but when I could get them I appreciated them.

Not everyone is sensitive to these add-ons.

VerityHabitat · 21/06/2017 18:42

Hmm. Seems they didn't come up with the phrase as there was a book published 15 years ago with the same reference.

It also refers to a flood plane in the USA.

I read this thread and then this popped up on my FB

Panty liners with lactic acid - WTF??
PGOAT · 21/06/2017 18:48

I have to admit I would use a pantyliner with lactic acid. I am prone to itchy, uncomfortable bacterial infections, and the best thing to get rid of them is a cream with lactic acid as the active ingredient. And I use pantyliners, just bc I hate the clammy feeling of pulling up my underpants after a wee and the residue has gone cold. Yuck. So I think I might actually benefit from a little lactic acid in my pantyliner, to keep the ph balanced and help avoid another infection.

GlitterRoseGold · 21/06/2017 18:49

I'm 26 and use panty liners everyday since having my dd (having a baby has caused an outflow) and she's nearly 3 now. anyways I actually like the scented ones

Ollivander84 · 21/06/2017 18:51

PGOAT - have you tried the lactacyd wash? It's really good for every day https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lactacyd-Feminine-Wash-200-ml/dp/B0047CMG90
I'm prone to thrush and BV and this is the only wash I can use

April241 · 21/06/2017 18:54

Glitter same, 30 and used liners daily since having my twins! Much prefer the scented ones

MeganChips · 21/06/2017 18:54

As a chronic thrush sufferer, I would actually try these if they were unscented.

The scented stuff is a nightmare, I can feel the itch starting within an hour or so but lactic acid makes a kind of sense.

HellonHeels · 21/06/2017 18:56

Oh dear the scented ones absolutely reek! Worse than car air freshener.

One of my colleagues uses scented san pro, we've never discussed it, no need - the smell fills the office Envy

kali110 · 21/06/2017 18:56

Mulledwine1
Yes some of my friends and i do discuss things like this. Why?

Leeloo2 · 21/06/2017 18:58

"V-Zone refers to the area of skin that begins under your belly button where your pubic hair growth starts, ending between your thighs (but not inside the vagina)...
We refer to V-Zone on the packaging of all Bodyform Daily Fresh Liners as they contain a unique ProSkin formula, which helps care for the intimate health of all of these areas"

Can I just ask how big exactly are these 'pantyliners'? If the V-Zone encompasses from belly button downwards then they'd need to be v v big...

SaucyJack · 21/06/2017 18:58

So V-Zone = the gunt, basically.

kali110 · 21/06/2017 18:58

msgrinch my friends and i talk about a lot of personal things, especially my best friend and i.

mellowbean · 21/06/2017 18:59

I use the scented liners. Sneezing can cause leeks and at the end of the day it smells. Same with period blood. Same on hot sweaty days. I also use them with tampons.

msgrinch · 21/06/2017 19:13

kali same. We talk about all sorts. Some times its nice normal to talk to your friends about things like this, i trust their opinion.

FabulouslyGlamorousFerret · 21/06/2017 19:16

Pahahaha! At 'gunt'

helpimitchy · 21/06/2017 19:24

Aw, more shite produced by men who think our genitals are dirty and nasty and need constant 'treatment' Hmm

CarrotFingers · 21/06/2017 19:28

I got some panty liners a few weeks ago which were scented despite nothing on the packaging saying they were! When my periods start up again after having a baby I'm going to use reusable pads.

missiondecision · 21/06/2017 19:32

Lol @ "V zone"
Who the fuck writes this comical nonsense.
It never occurred to me to refresh my "v zone"
