To hate men walking around with shirts off

It's really not lovely, is it?

AIBU to want them to cover up? So common.

LadyDeadpool precisely!

NoLoveofMine · 19/06/2017 21:37

And then posters wonder why MN is seen as sexist!

Firstly you don't know the same people posting on the thread the other day are posting the comments you're referring to on this thread. Secondly, plenty of people on that thread posted along the lines of it being acceptable if the wearer was giving what's deemed a good view. Thirdly, that's talking about a clothing choice which anyone should be free to take and this is talking about men walking around with no top whatsoever which wouldn't be deemed acceptable for women.

The fact you think MN could be seen as "sexist" in the way you're implying just because there's slightly less misogyny here than on most media/social media says a lot about how low the bar is.

NoLoveofMine · 19/06/2017 21:39

There were also plenty of posts on that thread saying posters felt it wasn't acceptable so using what some posters, who almost certainly aren't even the same posters as on this thread, said there to make some ridiculous point is risible.

NoLoveofMine thank you. Star Star Star Star Star

clearwaters · 19/06/2017 21:43

Lady I have clearly said I don't care if they are Achilles or Norris from Corrie: I don't want to see topless men. Gross and so lower clsss.

YANBU

I hate it! There is a time and a place for it, and the street is not it.

Cookingongas · 19/06/2017 21:45

Surely the thread comparison is the one where the lady asked if she could go topless by the pool?!?!

Where she was told no?!

I'll be honest. I don't like men in string vests- I look away. I don't like women in butt showing shorts- I look away.

Half naked men- I have to look away. Half naked woman- socially unacceptable

Peewee23 · 19/06/2017 21:54

Even worse with tops off and hands down shorts. Why do so many younger men walk down the street with their hands down their pants.

HildaOg · 19/06/2017 22:07

The only exposed people I've seen are girls with all their bits hanging out. Nothing wrong with that at all and nothing wrong if a man wants to strut his stuff either. Anyone who doesn't like to see can always look away.

MaisyPops · 19/06/2017 22:13

I hate it. If you're not swimming or at the beach, men and women should have some bloody clothes on.

Plus as a friend noticed the other year, the younger guys who do it are usually scrawny and swagger around with an attitude shkwing they ghink they're fit as hell (and aren't!) And then thr older men doing it are the pasty lard ones with a beer belly.
It's like look what the scrawny ones turn into.

Light hearted judgey comment aside, I don't think my it's unreasonable for people to keep their clothes on in public.

PurpleTraitor · 19/06/2017 22:35

I am saying I don't care what 'type' of person plonks next to me on the very-intimate very-hot bus. Male, female, big, small, any bloody variety. If they're naked, and touching me, I've the right to be Not Pleased in a Rather British Fashion.

Naked from the waist up, not ok, naked from the waist down, not ok, I'm an equal opportunity prude.

Scrumpernickel · 19/06/2017 22:37

You know when you go to Rome and all the local men are walking around topless?

No. Me either.

Foniks · 19/06/2017 22:40

Loling at the difference between topless women and topless men threads on this site

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 19/06/2017 22:42

DP's hot mate is round for the day tomorrow.

I'd love to see him without a shirt on.

notaslimceagirl · 19/06/2017 22:43

lower class Hmm

MaisyPops · 19/06/2017 22:48

foniks
I don't particularly want to see top less women wandering the street either. I'm also not a fan of people wandering through town like they're at the beach.
Male or female, I'm not a fan of it.

If a woman wishes to have everything out, fine but I will view it as unecessary.
If a man wishes to wander around top less like he is God's gift to women, fine but I will equally judge.

DisorderedAllsorts · 19/06/2017 22:58

It's that time of the year again and in a week I've been shown the following by the general public:
Men:
Topless blokes
Underarm hair from topless men
Beer guts
Hairy chests
Pubic hair crawling out of too small shorts

Women:
Arses hanging out of too tight/small shorts
Visible Underwear/thongs - clearly nobody knows what a slip is
Camel toes
Nipples showing
Builder's arses from both sexes - please wear a belt or high top jeans
Too tight tops so the wearer looks like an overstuffed sausage - please buy the next size/s up
TooI tight skinny jeans - ditto

Hurry up winter, my vision can't take it anymore.

heateallthebuns · 19/06/2017 22:58

Yanbu it's minging. I hate seeing all that flesh. If you're at the beach fair enough, at the park at a push I suppose. Put it away around town.

SenoritaViva · 19/06/2017 23:01

My 10 and 5 year old decided at the weekend that it was shocking and unacceptable m. I don't care whether they're young/fit/old/flabby. I'm not keen either. Beach yes. Round my village. No thanks.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 19/06/2017 23:03

Taps aff! Come live in Scotland, we suitably take the piss out these wankers!

Mum2jenny · 19/06/2017 23:05

I don't care if men don't wear shirts, and don't notice unless they are seriously fit.

But I do notice women who are inappropriately clad in public places, some of whom would be very out of place even on a beach!

Gileswithachainsaw · 19/06/2017 23:05

Tbh I don't really care. I'm usually too busy going where I need to go or getting what I need to get to worry about what everyone else is doing.

I live in a town where people litter, there are homeless people openly sleeping in underpasses, people spitting, all of which bother me far more to see than a man with a top off. Or a woman for that matter. As long as people aren't being threatening or rude to me or deliberately trying to intimidate me in some way im.not bothered.

Scrap that actualky I've had people pull their tops off trying to square up to me and can't say I've given a shit then....

Must be something wrong with me Blush

UterusUterusGhali · 19/06/2017 23:05

I find it nauseating tbh.

I know I'm massively unreasonable because I would have no problems if women were topless I think; I see norks every day at work and I don't turn a hair at nekkid ladies.

I have no problem with nudity and intend to go to a nudist beach this year.

But smelly, sweaty blokes in actual public turns my stomach. :/

Gileswithachainsaw · 19/06/2017 23:07

Sorry o should clarify really, seeing people sleeping rough doesn't bother me in a "yuck how horrid it looks" kinda way.

I mean it's sad to see people have to live like that and it make a worrying about a top seem trivial

SenoritaViva · 19/06/2017 23:07

@PaulaAnkaTheDog - Scots have so much right! English bowing down in admiration Smile
