To be considering leaving my washing outside all night??

Just got in from work and have a busy day tomorrow. Aibu to consider doing a couple of loads of laundry this evening then hanging them out to dry overnight and either bring them in tomorrow morning if they are dry or after work if they aren't?
My garden is fully enclosed and there are no rumours of underwear thieves around (wouldn't want my big granny pants anyway!!).
I honestly don't know if this is a wrong thing to do or not after reading something on here about laundry getting 'the dark' (and not really knowing what that is)??

I do this all the time. Nothing terrible has happened yet.

That's what you think

I did it last night in my dressing gown and we survived - everything was dry by 8am so I could bring it in before work.

Rossigigi · 19/06/2017 22:05

I did it last nightBlush

If you leave your washing out all night. Little elfs come along in the night and iron them and peg them back up for you.

Swimming togs rinsed of sand going out now.

They use the sheets in elf porn movies first. Don't be so naive.

Do it, especially if it is a dark load. I do it on purpose so the dark and bright stuff doesn't get bleached in the sun.

barrygetamoveonplease · 19/06/2017 22:11

I thought of you all when my eighty-five-year-old DFather told me in scandalized tones that his neighbour left her washing out all night.

MimsyFluff · 19/06/2017 22:13

I'm determined to get the bottom of my never ending washing I've hung three loads of washing out tonight and the sticks are ready for the kids in the morning! I'll do 3 loads tomorrow (2 in the morning and 1 after 4 hopefully a few more too) then three more again hopefully tomorrow night 👕👖👗👘👙👚

On holiday with my DM & DF. When I suggested we bring the washing in before bed, and was told it could wait till morning, all I could say was 'but.... but it will get darked on Shock'

My parents think I'm a bit nuts now

(Nevermind that it smells of this evening's BBQ and the dawn chorus of pigeons will probably crap on it)

louisejxxx · 19/06/2017 22:25

I put mine out this evening as we've got to be out early in the morning and I'd just forget.

Sweetpotatoaddict · 19/06/2017 22:27

I'm waiting for my 3rd load to finish here. The sun is only just setting and it'll be light again by 3am. Not strong enough dark for it to get darked on

ChildishGambino · 19/06/2017 22:27

Noooo I demand a re-wash if 'dark' happens

paxillin · 19/06/2017 22:52

Brights are out, to be swapped for whites in the morning and then darks again at night. One of the advantages of this heat- you can dry several loads in a day!

No. I'm not having that! Cute little elf's?
There just cute and innocent.

paxillin · 19/06/2017 22:58

Have you seen those creeps that sit on some children's shelves in the run up to Christmas? Who knows what they do with the tree top fairy at night Shock!

Topseyt · 20/06/2017 01:49

I always do this. I love it to get "darked" on. Grin

CarolsSecretCookieRecipe · 20/06/2017 03:05

I do this regularly.

I also, shock, horror, hang washing out on a Sunday!! (Something my mother told me never to do because we are middle class, what will the neighbours think, it's disrespectful, etc, etc, etc)

Oh no. We don't have that class of elf's around these parts. Ours are more the fairy tale type.
You get good and bad in every culture. We can't tar them all with the brush
