Baby shower invite has a FAQ section;

  • No we don't know the sex of our baby and we won't be finding out, part of this is to have a surprise and the other part is to prevent reinforcing gender norms (which is something we will be trying to prevent throughout our parenting journey due to its link to an increase sexual and domestic violence rates especially in teenagers).

Bless them. Any other good bits?

PrincessHairyMclary · 18/06/2017 06:37

PFB by any chance?

Chamomiletea · 18/06/2017 06:46

Of course it's a PFB - just a bit of blabber about not being a sexist event so men are welcome

Hmm
curlii103 · 18/06/2017 07:07

The actual response or the fact there is a faq section or The fact it seems they are throwing their own shower@ yes too much to all of the above. ...except if I'm honest I'd quite like yo know what else is in the faq !

UserThenLotsOfNumbers · 18/06/2017 07:11

Lol

TheClaws · 18/06/2017 07:13

which is something we will be trying to prevent throughout our parenting journey due to its link to an increase sexual and domestic violence rates especially in teenagers

Did they provide a source or at least a link for this particular claim? I'd like to read it if so Grin

EllaHen · 18/06/2017 07:14

Well, I think they sound like nice, insightful people.

They are up against the weight of society though. And, shit friends.

crazypenguinlady · 18/06/2017 07:16

Haha!
Please post the rest Grin

TidyDancer · 18/06/2017 07:24

Omg they are ridiculous. Are they this daft normally or has the pfb madness taken over?

TidyDancer · 18/06/2017 07:25

@EllaHen are you one of the parents?!

FanaticalFox · 18/06/2017 07:27
Biscuit

Horrendous

SquinkiesRule · 18/06/2017 07:30

LOL
It's like those childless couples who say things like, "I'd never let my child do/have/be like that"
Then you see them as a parent and they allow all those things for a quiet life.

Jellymuffin · 18/06/2017 07:47

I always find things like this hilarious. With my PFB I was a bit similar Blush maybe not to that extent though. I knew I was having a boy but was convinced MY boy wouldn't be obsessed with cars and round things and snot etc. We would spend sunny days playing with tasteful, wooden, gender neutral toys Grin. It's not worked out quite as I imagined Wink.

Sparklingbrook · 18/06/2017 07:51

Ooh that is priceless. An FAQ section. Grin

Hassled · 18/06/2017 07:54

Yes, my first boy was never ever ever going to have toy guns or any sort of weapons. He just made them out of Duplo as soon as he was able. By the time I got to the third boy we had a whole arsenal of weaponry in the house.

Jellymuffin · 18/06/2017 07:55

Hassled - mine too!!!! I was sure he'd never even seen a gun but he somehow knew how to make one and what sounds it made!

BoggledMind · 18/06/2017 08:02

I wonder how you reinforce gender norms whilst the baby is still in utero 🤔

daisychain01 · 18/06/2017 08:05

Dear God, an FAQ section.

Next thing you know, they'll have set up a telephone advice line to field the flood of enquiries they clearly believe their event will attract.

Another one to file under D for Delusional.

daisychain01 · 18/06/2017 08:07

Rearrange this well known phase

Own arses up their

Sparklingbrook · 18/06/2017 08:11

I would be tempted to buy 2 gift blankets, one pink one blue with gift receipts. Grin

putdownyourphone · 18/06/2017 08:23

Make sure you take a pink balloon and a blue balloon OP Grin

putdownyourphone · 18/06/2017 08:24
