Is it me, or does this weather just make many people such arses?

As in: competition in nearly every garden as to who can have the smelliest smokiest BBQ,

who can play ntheir loud trash ''music'' the loudest- even taking their giant loudspeakers to the middle of the garden. and its all a mash of drum n bass, Bollywood, (C)rap, offensive lyrics etc. whole street shaking like that scene in jurrasic park when the t-rex is approaching.

who can stay out the longest, as in, all bloody night even though the law says theres not supposed to be excessive noise after 11pm? ( and no one can complain as the police/noise enforcement people CBA)

the ones who go down the local pubs and come back shouting like football chanting at all hours of the day and night throwing beer cans and peeing and shitting in peoples front gardens?-yes, its happened.

the mobile ''music'' boxes in souped up crap cars?

dog walking and letting dogs shit everywhere at all hours of day and barking dogs through the night?

mowing lawns/cutting hedges with those trimmer things that are loud at stupid o clock in the morning and stupider o clock at night?

those awful trampolines and lay-zee-spa things that kids and adults MUST use at the same stupid o clock times?

and I guess someone will say this is England, its rare we get such hot weather, once in a while is okay....crap! its every single time the sun dares to show its face, been over a month already, and will go on till mid sept or so

I pray for rain- (My best Victor Meldrew yet!)

Try living in Scotland. Had the sum total of about two hours sunshine today when the rest of the UK is having a heatwave. Sucks.

PaintingOwls · 17/06/2017 20:40

it's because people become short tempered or something.

Oh yes, I have been in an absolutely foul mood all day, I can definitely believe this.

The80sweregreat · 17/06/2017 20:42

I hate it, the neighbours become loud. The roads are wild and tempers flare. We are not meant to have this level of heat.

caffeinestream · 17/06/2017 20:44

It's been gorgeous here (Lake District) and everyone seemed to be In a really good mood.

Had a lovely dinner in a pub garden overlooking the fells after work, surrounded by families and couples/holidaymakers.

Not everywhere in Scotland dementedma, beautiful day in Edinburgh today.

OohMavis · 17/06/2017 20:48

I can relate to the grumpy arses. I'd so fucking grumpy, and on my period. Fuck you sun, fuck you!

AnneBiscuit · 17/06/2017 20:49

Sparkling - I remember a friend's DH, who was a pc, once hoping for rain as crime went down when it was raining. He said his colleagues used to refer to rain as PC Rain!

YesEinsteinsMumDid · 17/06/2017 20:49

I am considering putting in a complaint wrt sound to the appropriate county council department because of the village council music event that despite being half a mile away is giving me a migraine inside my house with all the windows shut. Angry
Seriously if it is that loud here you are doing serious damage to people's hearing if they attend the event. How the hell do you even listen to music properly when it is that loud
I am praying for a power outage, we have had several over the last few days due to some neighbouring road works so it is not impossible....

The80sweregreat · 17/06/2017 20:49

I am moving to scotland one day. For the colder weather.

GrouchyKiwi · 17/06/2017 20:51

I hate this weather. I'm grouchy, the children are grouchy, and they stay awake extra late (well, DD1 is anyway).

At least I have wine. And we had pudding for dinner because real food was too difficult, so that's fun.

Actually, the people who live around us are brilliant. No loud music, only one BBQ that I can smell, and no one's being noisy.

Grimbles · 17/06/2017 20:51

Tbf its the humidity that gets me. It's still 26° here and humid as fuck 😥. I'm considering a cool shower but know 2 mins after I'd be a sweaty mess again.

GrouchyKiwi · 17/06/2017 20:52

80s I'm in Scotland and it's still something like 24C here. I miss the normal weather.

The80sweregreat · 17/06/2017 20:54

Oh dear, it'll have to be somewhere colder then!
The heat makes me feel ill.

DrDreReturns · 17/06/2017 20:58

I get fed up of sweating all the time when it's this hot. As soon as I move I start sweating!

Iamastonished · 17/06/2017 21:03

Nope. All of our neighbours are civilised and don't behave unsociably or keep unsociable hours. I may hear the hum of a lawnmower on a Sunday afternoon, and never any loud music or drunkenness.

I love where I live.

StoorieHoose · 17/06/2017 21:08

dementedma you must be near me. Cloudy and close but about an hour or 2 of sun

BuzzKillington · 17/06/2017 21:10

Shhhh. It will be finished soon.

I love it, but we have nice neighbours and live in the countryside.

Last night, we were staying with friends and sat outside until 3.30am (no neighbours to disturb, lots of land).

Today we spent in a pub garden until 8pm. It's heaven.

QueenArseClangers · 17/06/2017 21:12

Sparkling especially when those topless men are shoulder to sweaty shoulder

TeachesOfPeaches · 17/06/2017 21:13

Sounds like you live on the tv show Shameless OP. I've had a lovely day

heavenlypink · 17/06/2017 21:19

I've met my people

Thought it was just me who thinks Confused at topless men Especially on the bus and train Angry

Iamastonished · 17/06/2017 21:23

Do British people still refer to Fahrenheit these days? I though it was just an American thing.

Iamastonished · 17/06/2017 21:24

Oh, and I love this weather BTW. It's years since we had weather this warm in June round here.

Siwdmae · 17/06/2017 21:32

Loving it. Took the dogs to the river early, they had an amazing time. Everything looked fabulous in the light. I dripped with sweat just from doing household chores. Sat and did an essay, big exam next week, sweated some more. Fortunately, I have good neighbours.

Titterofwit · 17/06/2017 21:36

Oh God. I almost started a thread with the same questions.

Our neighbours have been up since the crack of dawn preparing for a party that started at 11. I know they were up because they were outside shouting to each other as they put the sound system in the tree and then tested it at 7am. Then they started the bouncy castle with its hugely noisy generator or whatever it is. When the first guests arrived they cranked up the music to 11 and there it has stayed. All of the parking spaces in our quiet road have been taken and there are kids running wild and screaming all over the place- and ignoring the bouncy frigging castle.

i went out to escape the noise and it was no better. Groups of bare chested youths congregating on all horizontal surfaces outside the shops -all with cans laughing and shouting to each other and getting in the way of shoppers. Maniac drivers who had death wishes. Pedestrians who were ignorant of road safety . Shops had run out of most of the things I wanted. Bah!
So on the hottest day of the year Ive been inside with all of the doors and windows closed and feel like a hostage in my own house.

But as long as others have their fun eh?

Teddy1970 · 17/06/2017 21:50

Oh my god OP! I was just thinking that as I was walking down the stairs after trying to get the children to sleep, our neighbours teenage kids have got friends round and they're jumping on a sodding trampoline screaming at the top of their voices (theres about 8 of them on it and they're not young teenagers either) in the end I snapped and shouted out the window...selfish bastards,
