This government isn't keeping the population safe.

3 terror incidents in 3 months.

Information about terror suspects have not been acted upon. Yes i know other planned attacks have been prevented but 3 horrific attacks in 3 months???

Police cuts, fire services cuts, phasing out the NHS.

Cutting disability support. Cutting mental health support.

Burdening us with Brexit and the associated economic downturn reducing public funds further.

Inadequate housing policies, possibly resulting in the deaths of hundreds of innocent British citizens.

Risking the Good Friday agreement due to sheer reckless politics.

I strongly feel, based on the above, that the government is not keeping the British people safe.

Not only has Theresa May failed to prevent preventable population death but is also neither willing nor able to support the victims of the latest horrid incident.

Homeless families 'left clueless'
BBC's Emily Maitlis tweets...

"Families rehoused last night been left clueless about where to spend next nights. No word from #kccouncil. Chaos. #grenfelltragedy"

I literally have no words for such failings. And May must go now.

yanbu.

Dandandandandandandan · 15/06/2017 20:01

"JC has been speaking out about housing equality".

And has achieved what, in his 40 years as a politician? Talk is cheap. Unlike housing in London.

Elendon · 15/06/2017 20:03

All the services you mention require money. It has to come from somewhere, and people tend to prefer not to pay higher taxes to put more nurses in hospitals, more police on the streets and so on.

But there will be a magic money tree for the DUP. To the tune of billions.

Elendon · 15/06/2017 20:03

Oh and YANBU OP

SeagullsStoleMyChurro · 15/06/2017 20:06

YANBU at all. Between that despicable coalition and her refusal to visit the fire victims, my contempt for that woman is massive.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 15/06/2017 20:08

And has achieved what, in his 40 years as a politician? Talk is cheap. Unlike housing in London.

Well he's burst the neo liberal thatcherite bubble that has dominated political discourse in this country for 30 years. Now we have an alternative viewpoint and people are listening.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 15/06/2017 20:09

I just want this absurd quasi-religious bubble around JC to burst

The only quasi-religious bubble I see is the one May wants with the DUP.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 15/06/2017 20:14

But with Corbyn at the helm of the Labour Party determined to spend all the money

Again its always the what about Corbyn line from the kippers and bluekippers, pathetic and disingenuous

Plumbhead · 15/06/2017 20:24

"But there will be a magic money tree for the DUP. To the tune of billions."

Yes, funny that isn't it Confused

It's not just that May has seemingly no compassion with the victims but that she is not able to ensure that how the victims are being death with from here is effective and compassionate.

Why do we accept such a ugly regressive sort of government?

OP posts:
Doublechocolatetiffin · 15/06/2017 20:30

justanother sorry what is pathetic and disingenuous about what I said? I said that I was too concerned by Labours spending plans, set out in their manifesto and driven by Corbyn to vote for them. I would have happily voted for a labour government has the plans been more sensible and realistic.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 15/06/2017 20:32

YANBU although the two or three Tory boy posters on MN will come on and disagree furiously

GhostofFrankGrimes · 15/06/2017 20:37

What are sensible and realistic economic plans? Could you let May know.

This article sums it up pretty clearly to me.

I am extremely anti May colluding with the DUP.

Criticising Jeremy doesn't imply any faith in May.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 15/06/2017 20:48

Deflecting onto JC. Didn't work during election won't work now.

Plumbhead · 15/06/2017 22:38

Meanwhile our leaders are having a banter and giggle about the cuts in fire services.

It's not often I agree with Gideon, but dead woman walking about sums it up. She's had a disastrous week. All her speeches since the election show that she remains inflexible and has learned nothing. If ever a situation called for politicians to show compassion, it was the tragedy of the fire. Pics of her today show she just doesn't know how to handle the situation.

I seriously think that if there was another election today, Labour might win it (although I wouldn't vote Labour or Tory myself).

MayhemAndRudderless · 15/06/2017 22:57

YANBU

This government is shameful.

Fab39ish · 15/06/2017 23:08

LouiseBrooks · 15/06/2017 23:12

YANBU. She is arrogant, ineffectual and inept. The worst PM in my lifetime.

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 16/06/2017 06:43

I do get a bit irritated by people who don't understand long term economics commenting on the labour manifesto.

There's a lot of spending now. But after services are nationalised, we'll get the massive profits AND improved services.

When you put money into the public sector, not only do you create immediate jobs, but other industries do well. For example schools have enough money to buy let's say computers, the computer companies make money, they employ more people.

It's very lazy to say you're not voting for labour "because they'll spend all our money" when what they're doing is investing in our society.

I don't know what the Tories long term plan is. What are they going to do when they don't have any more of OUR services to flog at discounted rates to their mates?

GraceGrape · 16/06/2017 07:00

Totally agree Bugger. Successful economies.need investment. How do we expect our children to compete globally if we don't give education the resources we need? Cutting and cutting public services may save money short-term, but is storing up problems for the long term. Although I've posted before that Conservative ideology would seem to want to create a small elite at the top, privately-educated with private healthcare, with the rest of us plebs left to do their bidding and scrape by with whatever crumbs of public service they want to throw us.

SeaWitchly · 16/06/2017 07:10

All the services you mention require money. It has to come from somewhere, and people tend to prefer not to pay higher taxes to put more nurses in hospitals, more police on the streets and so on.

Yes, but why should those who are better off not pay a bit more to sustain these services? You know they didn't acquire their wealth purely by themselves. they also benefitted from earning and/or running a business in a country where they and/or their staff benefit from the NHS, police and fire service, rubbish disposal, community care, etc....

SeaWitchly · 16/06/2017 07:12

Amazing that even Tory mouthpiece Daily Mail is reporting that story about BJ Plumb... but I guess it is all over social media and can't be avoided.

Cannot understand why anyone would read or even look at that hate filled rag. Thus I am not clicking on your link but thanks for sharing.
