Had a swanky new bath in the bathroom. Obvs Hmm. It's very wide.

I've never been a bath fan, probably because of been rather ahem sturdy, touch opportunity for wibbly wobbly navel gazing.

But new bath, shrinking body, I thought why tfh not?

Shoitsters it's uncomfortable!Shock

Currently sitting up after trying on my back, on my front, recovery position (better than expected actually). So now what? Give it up?

Anyone successful in the Art of Comfy Bathery?

I did the sitting in the bath in the showroom too. But that was the bath we put in the old house and new house bath is not comfy. It's got one of those lips at the back that breaks your neck if you lean on it.
The bathroom is on my list of things to do.

swapsicles · 12/06/2017 22:24

If i stay in the bath for longer than 10 minutes I'm asleep! Maybe it's to do with size, I've got a slightly smaller bath apparently but almost all of me is in the water comfortably

DandelionAndBedrock · 12/06/2017 22:27

You need a foot of bubbles so you can't see your body to relax properly. Not you personally. Obviously. One does.

Our new build bathroom has a MASSIVE shampoo bottle ledge at the end of the bath. It is wide enough for an iPad and (whispers) a dinner plate. You can imagine what happened when I discovered this Blush. Not proud of it, but my evenings have been revolutionised!

FakePlasticTeaLeaves · 12/06/2017 22:29

Love a bath. I too have a bath pillow, it does help. Bath pillow, bath bombs/relaxing liquid stuff, dim the lights and it's ace!

Teabagtits · 12/06/2017 22:35

I used to have the most amazing bath pillow which made it to easy to sleep in the bath but it went awol years ago and I've never found anything similar since

viques · 12/06/2017 22:36

I love a bath, floris bath essence*, candles, radio 4. Every night for me, can't beat it.

  • bugger to clean but bliss.
arbrighton · 12/06/2017 22:37

Oddly, our space saving aka mostly pretty narrow bath is most comfy I've tried. Bit tricky getting myself out now I'm 37 weeks pregnant mind but....

Judydreamsofhorses · 12/06/2017 22:41

Our bath is huge. I tend to lie with my legs bent and up on the edge (most inelegant) and can spend hours in there. Bubbles, trashy mags, Percy Pigs, face masks, then a quick shower afterwards.

Clawdy · 12/06/2017 22:41

I fold up a bath towel and put it on the end of the bath to lean my neck on. It does occasionally slip into the water, though......

ExplodedCloud · 12/06/2017 22:41

My old comfy bath was slightly narrower and shorter than this bath. I could reach the end and gently wedge myself comfy.

HerBluebiro · 12/06/2017 22:44

I loves me a bath. Now there's a little less of me than before the water can swirl better.

I have to have bleach baths for my skin. Bleach makes the best bubbles. It is fantastic.

Then shower off with diprobase as soap substitute to remove lingering bleach smell. The first time I did it my skin was so soft. Has never been as good since

CheshireChat · 12/06/2017 22:53

I love having baths, but since my sciatica got worse I can't handle sitting/ lying down on hard surfaces for any decent length of time so I've had to mostly give them up Sad.

My current bath is short and narrow and it's great for a short arse like me, but 6ft5 DP isn't as keen Wink.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 12/06/2017 22:58

123 that's me.

Shower girl!

Just finished with a steamer of a session!

You utter plum!

How the heck?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 12/06/2017 23:00

Sleight, nope not deep and no bubbles as DAB brilliantly suggested.

I'm a bath or barth (other pronunciations are available) failure, I concede.

HemanOrSheRa · 12/06/2017 23:00

I want a japanese soaking tub, DP is completely unaware of my plans for this at the moment Grin. There will be much huffing and puffing about it but I know he will thank me in the end.

OvO · 12/06/2017 23:01

Love a bath! I'm 4ft 11in so fit in perfectly and can have all bits underwater at the same time - no deciding if I want warm knees or boobs. Grin

ChaosTrulyReigns · 12/06/2017 23:03

Bluebiro, I've just enjoyed endured my first bath ever without the damming of the tide. So that was a mini highlight. But not enough to tempt me from the Shower Side.

And bleach baths, that sounds, quite um, interesting. Hope it works Flowers

HeddaGarbled · 12/06/2017 23:41

Ah, but the bliss of emersing your whole self in hot water. I like both, shower is refreshing and best for hair washing, bath is relaxing and best for leg shaving. It's probably modern design that's the problem, designed for show, not function.

SleightOfHand · 13/06/2017 05:52

You'll have to try a really deep one next time, then you'll be a bit floaty.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 13/06/2017 08:02

Oh yeah it's got to be deep and hot (and bubbly). Two inches of lukewarm water is not a bath.

cardibach · 13/06/2017 21:43

But the surface of a bath is hard. How in earth can it ever be comfy? And you can't. Rest your book on your knee, so you would have to hold it up leading to aches arms and neck. The logistics don't work. Have a shower then lie in a comfy bed and read there with a glass of wine. Much more sensible.

Blanketdog · 13/06/2017 21:48

You need a bath pillow and fill it quite high. Ideally test a bath before you buy.

Southwaite · 13/06/2017 21:54

Aww man I'd love a bath now. But I'm trying to preserve my fake tan for the weekend.

TheNoodlesIncident · 13/06/2017 22:27

But why not just have a lovely shower for the getting-clean part, then hopping into a lusciously cosy, snuggly bed...?

No need for trying to accommodate neck bones on hard edges. Unless you have exceptionally hard pillows
