She has posted that her and her boyfriend are moving into their first time together and does anyone have any cheap or free furniture to help them. Someone posted a tv cabinet. Bit old fashioned but in good condition. Her reply? "Got one" Someone else posts a set of bowls and plates. Quite nice actually. Her reply? "Don't need em". And then someone has offered a wardrobe for free but she wants to see pictures first before she accepts . But she would prefer black of possible

And this is probably the third or fourth ad I have seen from this person. I have never bothered to read the replies until today. Surely if you want your home kitted out for free you need to be polite. And not really picky either. Or is this how things are done now? Confused

I hate this. I was very kindly given a nursing chair when I was pregnant by a friend who no longer used hers. When we had finished using it I thought I would pass it on and put it up for free on Facebook. I had so many really rude people messaging me for it and some even wanting me to deliver too. For free. I just give everything to the charity shop now

I've just remembered another lady on that that same local Facebook selling site.

She was selling a black bin bag full of ladies size 12 clothes-all good makes for £100. Worth much more, she said-but she wouldn't take a photo of any of the clothes as she was far too busy!! When people replied saying they wouldn't spend that much money on clothes they can't see, someone else jumped on the thread with lots of 'Huns' (I guessed it was her mate) aggressively telling people that 'loads of people would want to buy this as they'd be getting a real bargain and everyone on the thread was a loser'. The response was an overwhelming, 'well, good luck with that one!'

dimples I'm speechless, I take my hat off to you.

I should have mentioned the many lovely things I've been given on Freecycle/Facebook and the lovely grateful people who've picked up stuff from us! Amongst the occasional weirdos there have been some really happy moments that have made me feel really good, and/or have really helped me out with something for the house or the children. It's fun to have a whinge sometimes but that's not to say that there's nothing good about giveaway groups. They've brightened up my life!

Some sellers are also pretty funny. We had one one selling these keychains she said were rare, £50 for two, when someone linked an Ebay listing that had them going for a fiver.

I've been in the same position, having to start from scratch after an abusive marriage and relying on the kindness of family and friends. However, I didn't turn my nose up at any of it!
It's not the needing things for free that's bad, it's the snotty attitude of expecting high end/expensive things for free and being rude to anyone kind enough to offer to help that's disgusting.

Side note, I've only just managed to save up for a Dyson and I've wanted one for years! I'm 35 years old!!!

The one that really made me go "WTF" was yesterday on our local "yummy mummy " (eugh) Facebook page. Woman was asking whether anyone knew of any older ladies whose grandchildren were either grown or living some distance away and were missing being a grandparent, as they could offer their 3 children as surrogate grandchildren in return for "spending time when them whilst we were away from the house".

In other words, we require free childcare, and you should consider yourself lucky to spend time with our kids.
More front than Blackpool!!!

A family member basically demanded friends and families baby stuff when she was pregnant. Was rude enough.

Imagine our surprise when she began selling it all on baby sites to fund the high end items she wanted for her baby ...Shock

I can't believe the audacity of some people! I've been in a situation where we lost everything (house fire) and had to cobble together a home from nothing. I was so incredibly grateful to anyone who offered me stuff. I can't imagine being so rude to anyone who was offering to help me!
