Actually I have done it before (50 pounds in 6 months ) but for some reason I can't do it again.

And the weight is piling up. I'm not even cheating!

Inspire me?

No fat, no refined sugar, no alcohol.

Breakfast - banana, plus a few each of strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, black berries, spoon of reduced fat crème fraiche

Lunch - 75 mil of cous cous, sweetcorn, onion, celery, peppers, diced and mixed in, I might put a pinch of cheese on top. Spoon of crème fraiche

Dinner - 300gr of steak finely diced, stir-fry comprising onions, peppers, pak choi, courgette, mushroom and bean shoots. Occasionally I swap the steak for prawns or chicken

If I get the nibbles I eat citrus fruit (oranges , tangerines, clementine's etc) and apricots.

I never deviate from the above. 5 stone in 24 weeks. I enjoy it and I'm not bored with it.

It's an absolute fallacy sliming world is (as I've read here) eating 12 muller lites and your own body weight in pasta. No one eats like that, only in the fantasy minds of some MN posters.

That's awesome, StillDrivingMeBonkers! And you actually eat carbs!

I can't remember the name of the programme now but just back to the poster who mentioned sleep, this programme said that if you don't have a good nights sleep then your body absorbs more calories from food the next day.
So if you are a poor sleeper then you could be eating stuff you always have and unwittingly be taking in more calories.
I'm sure it had Michael Mosley (sp?) on it.

Got the book - but exam week so I'll be reading it and starting seriously right after my last exam on Friday!

Another BSD person. Lost a stone and a half over 3 months - and that's as a post-menopausal 50-something who's always found it hard to lose weight. I still have the same again to go to get my bmi from obese to overweight, which is my target, but I feel quietly confident I'll be able to do it. Being able to eat good full-fat such as yoghurt and decent cheese does an enormous amount to keep you feeling full, and I can now honestly say I have no desire for sugar or products with sugar in them. And I was someone who was mainlining chocolate before... I am still drinking alcohol, which I really shouldn't, but have at least cut it down to weekends. My top tips are lots of home-made soup for lunch, and use of batch-cooking to ensure there's always something healthy and of decent portion size ready for you in the freezer. Good luck!!
