Unremarkable pizza and a £6 peice of cheesecake that tasted like it was from a supermarket and a bog standard mojito with low end tasting rum cost me about 35 quid Confused

Couldn't agree more!

Peaceandharmony7 · 11/06/2017 13:03

It's not the greatest place to eat I agree

wobblywonderwoman · 11/06/2017 13:05

Ate there recently - they must have issues with their steak as the waitress Pre warned us that it isnt a prime cut.

We found it just ok. Nothing wow

228agreenend · 11/06/2017 13:07

Tyes, I agree. We went to th Westfield one. The food was okay, but overpriced.

EchidnasPhone · 11/06/2017 13:08

I went to the one in Edinburgh last week & it was really nice. Pricing was also quite reasonable for what we ordered. I had the steak & fries, cooked rare & really tender. The kids menu isn't up to much. Nice to have something different for the children to choose from but we end up ordering from the adults menu as it's better value.

Ellie56 · 11/06/2017 13:08

Agree. Grossly overpriced and absolutely average.

MacarenaFerreiro · 11/06/2017 13:09

Hsve only eaten there once as they had a "kids eat free" deal. Very underwhelming experience, the food was not bad but the service was absolutely appalling.

Wouldn't return - especially as within 5 minutes walk of the Glasgow one you've the choice of Prezzo, Wagamama, TGI Friday, Zizzi, Hard Rock, Ask etc etc etc. Would much rather take the kids to Prezzo than back to Jamie's.

Cocklodger · 11/06/2017 13:09

It's a chain restaraunt you can't really expect much tbh no matter who opened/directs it. YANBU though

StarCrossdSkys · 11/06/2017 13:10

Agree. It used to be really good when they opened the first few restaurants. Now it's a pale imitation. Last time I went (about 2 years ago) I was persuaded to try a new starter as 'they wanted feedback on the new menu'. It was disgusting and I eat anything. When I politely provided my feedback to the server I had to speak to 3 staff members including a manager who kept appearing during the rest of the meal, fill in a form detailing my issues with the dish and they still refused to take it off the bill! Total farce and ruined a rare child free lunch. I am never going back.

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 11/06/2017 13:11

YANBU - very bland food

2014newme · 11/06/2017 13:11

It's poor.
Fifteen is good though

DawnOfTheMombie · 11/06/2017 13:12

YANBU.

Carluccios is way better.

Alisvolatpropiis · 11/06/2017 13:12

Completely agree.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 11/06/2017 14:02

I went to the one in Edinburgh last week & it was really nice

It's much nicer than the supposedly authentic and hugely overpriced Contini just a few metres away. Last time I was there was struggling to find anything of interest to a vegetarian ( which takes some doing in an Italian restaurant)

Babbitywabbit · 11/06/2017 14:03

Yanbu. Loads of other chains are way better

Farmerswifeupnorth81 · 11/06/2017 14:03

It's just another frankie amd bennies style chain. Nothing at all remarkable . Rip off

iamavodkadrinker · 11/06/2017 14:05

It's barely even average food.

ShatnersBassoon · 11/06/2017 14:08

I think the food is OK, but I've only eaten there on some kind of promotional rate. I wouldn't pay the full price.

kaytee87 · 11/06/2017 14:10

Totally agree, I had spaghetti bolognese at one of his restaurants and it was so salty I drank 2 pints of water Envy

TheBogQueen · 11/06/2017 14:11

Is he doing pizza now?

My kids were just fed up with the portion sizes -too small.

It's better than frankie and bennys though

QuestionARhino · 11/06/2017 14:13

Ugh YES sub par food at extortionate prices. Someone once told me that all the food comes in pre-prepared and is just cooked onsite to ensure consistency amongst all his restaurants which just sounds like a crappy business model as far as the customer is concerned 😕

CremeBrulee · 11/06/2017 14:15

Think it depends on the store. Have eaten at the Chelmsford one and been pleasantly surprised. Had a quick pre theatre dinner at the Piccadilly Circus branch last week which was frankly inedible.

MrsPeelyWaly · 11/06/2017 14:19

I had a lovely breakfast at the one inside Gatwick Airport

Imaystillbedrunk · 11/06/2017 14:24

I had a pizza in one that had no cheese on it. I queried with the waitress and the response was "did the menu say cheese" well no, but the natural assumption is that pizza = cheese.

I blame them for my drunken behaviour that evening

Seniorcitizen1 · 11/06/2017 14:25

All these celebrity chef restaurants are over priced for average food - that's why I never go to them - much better to eat in local independent restaurants than chains.
